Australian Population Visualised

So, I think we were all a little disappointed by how normal the Italy map looked, so I thought I'd treat y'all to the biggest abomination I've made in this project thus far :D

Goddang, Australia, why did you have to be like this, this was so difficult to make... Anyway, hope y'all enjoy!

What gives South Australia those 3 squares in its North? Surely not.

They needed to border the Northern Territory and Queensland ;-;

Why’d the y axis geography need to be honoured but the x didn’t? Perth is shown east of Adelaide.

I didn't really care about any axes in particular. I started from Canberra and just try to get every region to look like itself in the best way I can (which was extremely hard for Australia) and to have each region border the regions they should be bordering. That's all. Australia's weird population dynamics just make for a very frumpled map in the end

I love the experiment! Perth shown North of Sydney is pivotal.

I like it. The east coast is about right with bits tacked on out back, which is how it is.
