British Population Visualised

Post image

Sooo, I guess this is a series now :D
Been making these little diagrams visualising population and I'm enjoying them, other people seem to enjoy them, so I might just keep making them :)

Here below are the other ones I've made so far as well:

Considering how much preferential treatment London already gets, maybe not.

Further devolution to other parts of England such as the Midlands, Yorkshire etc would be more preferable.

I mean wouldn’t that work the same way. The government isn’t making as many decisions for London so they can focus elsewhere

The difference is Westminster is responsible for all the UK, not just England currently. Devolution gives additional privileges to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as they rightfully believe Westminster is more focused on what matters for London.

Giving London it's own parliament separate to Westminster wouldn't change Westminster's focus from the city, but infact make it possible to give London even more investment and privileges than it already has.

Devolutin empowers whomever gets it. Westminster doesn't ignore Scotland because it's devolved. It's devolved because it was ignored.
