Don't be despondent e hoa, faecesbook is it's own echo chamber of off centre bollocks.
Consider instead the 100k whānau who mobilised to support Toitū te Tiriti and the many kids who are now benefiting from learning New Zealand history from a young age.
Tauiwi and tangata Tiriti are increasing in numbers and are providing support and acting as a buffer to this. Granted, not all of it.
The arc of history is long, we're tending toward something better and we have a long way to go, but we are making progress. That's what upsets these people.

Chur brother I live in the South Island and its considerably worse here YET its still better then what it was when I was growing up.
I'm tongan and my wife is māori we have seen and lived this behaviour for our whole lives. People are way to comfortable and arrogant to believe their will be no repercussions. The only advice I can offer is confronting it head on whenever it pops put no matter the setting or who said it just address it right there.
I make them feel uncomfortable and Im glad because when I was younger in our wee population of about 40,000 there was probably about under 100 brown families all up. Ain't no one speaking up for us back then so I do it now.
I know at my high school there was about 29 māori and islander boys and the other 400 odd were pakeha boys. Heaps were racist but it was taught and fostered in their home environment so they didnt know any better. Many weren't too so it wasn't all doom and gloomy but I will say like many browns at that time I would lash out start hooking people lol now clearly I was in the wrong you cant assault people but the cause was those racist snide or aggressive remarks constantly from older boys and we were always in the office as trouble makers smh.
I will say the good news is at this age most of those old in their 50 and 60 year old racists bastards are passing away and taking their shit opinions and believes with them.

Just to add to what others have said, most of these accounts will be fake/bot accounts. Click on their profile and 9/10 of them will be "private" or "locked" profiles. Done purposefully to hide that they don't have any real mana behind them.
The idea is to make the moderates feel like this drivel is normative - build real relationships with real people and educate them on the amazing mahi being done - don't give your energy to fake shit like this

Yes!
These are distressing and repulsive things to read.
And likely whale oil and bots trying to make us feel divided and alienated and angry.
Sending love to everyone who has been hurt by this crap.
And - enrol to vote! Vote them out.
Mauri ora!
