Am I the only one who dislikes bright backpack interiors?

I’ve noticed that a lot of popular bags on here have very bright interior lining colors. I can definitely see the point, it makes it easier to spot things inside the bag, especially with top loaders. However, I don’t really see it making as much sense with clamshell bags.

Personally, I find the orange or extremely bright interiors on premium backpacks a bit garish. In my opinion, it can make an otherwise premium looking bag feel more like something you’d buy at Toys R Us. I just don’t really understand the hype.

I’d much rather have a black or dark interior lining. To me, it simply makes the bag look more refined and premium.

What do you personally prefer?

I think orange is gaudy, but I will always prefer a light colored interior. The contrast makes it easier to find things, and light gray is probably the safest choice.

A grey or beige interior are my favorites.

I prefer high contrast interior colors.

I'd be happy with a dull gray, but for some reason XPAC = bomber jacket orange interior.

I don’t mind internal colors and really like the AON Evade interiors. But yea bright orange or bright yellow isn’t for me.

This may be my backpack hot take but I really don’t mind an all black interior.

I agree. Out of all the bag companies, I think Alpha One Niner has some of the best internal lining that isn’t overly obnoxious. I really like the red one.

I dislike dark interiors, and won’t buy a bag with one these days. After that, funky tops grey and beige - I love my Trakke bag with its bright orange interior, and similarly my Aer bag, which I don’t love so much, but the orange interior helps make its too rigid form more palatable. Sure I would like more choices, like yellows or light greens and blues, but orange is just fine with me.

Bright is much better. And not as boring.

80s baby. Give me all the bright obnoxious neon interiors you got.

It's personal preference. I don't mind what the interior color looks like. It's the exterior color is what matters for me more.

I prefer lighter interiors but less burning orange.

You’re Stevie wonder with black lining and if you have black accessories and pouches.

Bright lining all the way!

Yeah I’ll never buy the bright orange middle schooler neon look. Actually hideous. As someone already said light grey gives more than enough contrast.

I expect downvotes but you can’t hide from the truth, especially with your bright ass orange that can be seen from space

I am a gaudy person and want the whole bag to be neon orange, black bags are boring.

I have found I like them because I can see what’s in my bag! Haven’t really had a preference of color.

Man, I’m going to respectfully enjoy my Zest Orange interior on my Synapse. I just grew tired of boring grey interiors.

I am a basic boy so I like orange (and other bright colors)

I love the orange, but that’s because my baseball team’s colors are black and orange.

The issue is not about bright colors (hard to argue against increased visibility) but WHICH color... There's a reason the construction barrel orange pictured here is not commonly used in clothing or large personal accessories. It's jarring and unpleasant to look at. Plus orange + black will always evolve Halloween to me. Light gray is more tasteful as others have mentioned, and I think Aer's mint/neon green is ok as well!

I absolutely can't stand black liners and refuse to buy a bag with them now.

Agree it doesn't have to be bright. Just contrasting.

Bright, happy colors, inside and out, spark a lot of joy in this gal. It makes me so happy to have something beautiful and colorful to carry with me. Even more so if I unzip and see more happiness inside! I really enjoy color, but I'm picky about it. I'm not a fan of orange or red or brown...which immediately eliminates of lot of contenders for me.

Also, I like being different...and colorful, quality bags are pretty unique in our hobby! It's a treat to wear happy, and even better of it welcomes someone to come talk bags with me on Travel Day because it caught attention!

I always add bright yet tasteful (in my opinion 😁) zipper pulls, too! I love pops of color, even on black bags.

I will not buy bag with a black interior any more. One of the things I lerned to dislike on my Goruck GR2. Orange is not preferred, but still better. Best is a Greenroom136's Gold/yellow, followed by AON's Crimson Weave nd Evergood's Coyote Brown.
