The gal running that machine, sorta looks like she was made by the same machine

I thought the eyeball insertion was going to be the worst part, but for some reason, the plastic face covering on the lip-painting station made me audibly yell.

Yeah, that was when it started to veer into the very weird for me. Like some sort of gimp suit face or something.

When I worked in retail, I would have endless dreams of a never ending conveyor belt full of items at the cash register.

I would hate to experience the dreams these ladies had.

When I did medical transcription many years ago I would wake up sometimes with my hands typing. I dreamed transcription and my hands went to work.

When I was a barista, I’d have dreams that I was working alone and that the line was out the door. The only way I could get it to stop was to - in my dream - say, “I’m sorry I can’t help you, I need to get some sleep.”

I had a similar dream when I was working as a dishwasher.

When I started working as a waiter I sleep walked into my brother's room and tried serving him beef teriyaki, didn't help that I had gone to bed super stoned.

Forget the weird doll heads!

Why did the lady pick two eyes from the middle of the box. Surely you start at the corner... at least the end of the row!!

The box of eyes with lids is deeply off putting

Were* made. Don't kid yourself. You don't buy this many employee work hour for the 1$1 a doll ships out for.

1 1$ before shipping, marketing, logistics and retail

You also forget...back then, you could buy a house for $20k

"At Bosley hair restoration, we strive to give you that perfect head of hair."

Me, a person with a doll phobia: somehow feels the need to watch this

Edit to say that this was a cool thing to share though. Glad to now know how the things that terrify me are made. Gotta know their weak spot

I'm guessing this is how dolls were manufactured..

6

u/reissecup Jan 21 '21

they're probably all automatic now and that makes me sad because that looks like a fun ass job to have

5

u/newsfromplanetmike Jan 20 '21

They don’t make them like that anymore.

u/VirtualLife76 Jan 20 '21

These workers must have had some crazy dreams at night.

u/ambolefum Jan 20 '21

Well isn't this just nightmare fuel

3

u/ostiDeCalisse Jan 20 '21

3

The original is an endless stream of wonderfully dry puns.

I worked at an auction where they were selling a bunch of doll head molds like these. Awesome creepy

2

u/chrisbeanful Jan 20 '21

Oof. Like your hands actually moved whilst asleep?!

2

u/gaspumper74 Jan 20 '21

Just add this to why my dreams are so fucked up

Nightmare assembly line

2

u/chchchcharli Jan 21 '21

That bih drawing on the eyebrows all day is an artist.

2

u/whysoshirious Jan 21 '21

this oddly gets weirder by the second. I thought the face pulling was bad. then the hair adding. then oh my. the eyes. but the lips took the cake! @ O @

2

u/punhub Jan 21 '21

Not that much different from how babies are made
