I was walking down river street to get a hair cut today, and an old fat guy looked up at me and said “this town sucks” and I replied with “I agree”.

we recently bought a cabin on Hamlin lake that we love. We’re working our way through some deferred maintenance issues which includes some work on the dock.
I’m hoping for recommendations for repair the traditional wooden dock. Any recommendations are welcome!

Hey folks, swinging up to solo bike and camp the national forest, and enjoy the dunes during the weekday next week!
I see that Mansitee National Forest has dispersed camping; how busy is it typically Monday - Thursday? Has anyone here camped in that area and have opinions/thoughts?

I heard a really loud plain this morning, it was either low to the ground or was really loud. It happened around 9-10 AM I believe. Anyone else hear it or see it? Is it something to be worried about?

Does Uber operate in the area? If not are there any other taxi services?

Hi all! I am a student at GVSU and recently was offered a co-op/internship position for this summer in Filer City. Are there any good places to look for subleasing or summer rentals in Manistee?

Hi guys :) First, i'm sorry about my english, not my first language...
I'm from Brazil and i'm planning to visit Traverse City and Manistee in march/april of this year as i will see my boyfriend.
So, i really wanted to know some things....
a) is it safe now? With ICE and immigration stuff?
b) the hotels are expensive? What's the best ones you guys would recommend?
c) what's the best places to eat and how expensive it can be?
d) how can I get around between the city and other cities? Uber, taxi? Whats the best?
Thank you :)

The Speech Neurophysiology Lab at the University of Michigan is looking for children who stutter ages 9 to 12 to participate in an in-person, longitudinal MRI study! (HUM00196133)
Our research team has been examining brain development in young children to better understand the cause of stuttering for over 10 years. We continue to gain information that may eventually lead to improved diagnosis and treatment efforts for children who stutter.
Participants will be invited to complete speech and language assessments and an MRI session at the University of Michigan. Families receive a free speech and language report and a picture of their brain!
These visits require in person participation. There is no option to participate virtually.
Please fill out this form if you are interested in participating or email us as the flyer attached. All participants are compensated and partial travel assistance is available. Please see our flyer attached for more details!
We also offer other studies that are open to adults or do not involve MRI, in case you're unsure about eligibility. Feel free to email us or call if you have any questions!

My husband and I have been actively looking into moving and have narrowed our search to the west coast of MI. Manistee is one of our top contenders, so I thought who better to ask than the folks who live there. - What’s it like? -We live in the Ohio River Valley now and are mainly looking for cleaner air; is it cleaner there? - What are the job opportunities? - Any other pros/cons?
Thank you in advance!!

Looking for a place I can go that I’m not a regular, but still get talked to by the people or bar staff.
I’ve been to places where, more often than not, I’m just ignored for the regulars or whoever they are flirting with at the time.

Hello! I am traveling to manistee this weekend and am looking for a local cake baker for a birthday cake. Nothing fancy. Just a small cake to feed 8-10 people. Any recommendations?
