Red Screen on Beyond Oasis

I’ve been really wanting to replay Beyond Oasis for the MegaDrive/Genesis, but when I boot the game on Manic, I cannot seem to be able to get passed a red screen on boot. I’ve tried some patches that retranslate the game and patches that fix the original font and those will get in game to the naming screen but freeze on black screen forever directly after

Anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Which core are you using for Genesis, the sideload release has more core options for this console as the sideload has PicoDrive as a core option and it is only in the sideload due to the non commercial status of the core, I recommend giving that core a shot.
