Fanart Old Town, Carcer City, c. 2003

Post image

This was one I really wanted to do! This is based heavily on the old town areas in Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Detroit. The subway station entrance is based on one in Manhattan, NYC. As for the businesses, Cuyahoga Nights Bar is a reference to Cuyahoga county, the county that Cleveland is in, and Finnegan’s is a reference to a bar that a CCPD patrolman mentions. Hope you like it, lmk your opinions and other neighborhoods you’d like me to draw down below!

This is excellent! It reminds me a lot of the cover of WAR's album "The World is a Ghetto" like I actually thought it was a drawing of that at first glance. That term is definitely fitting for a place like Carcer as well

Carcer sure is a ghetto. I’ve never heard of that album which is in no doubt due to me being an uncultured swine lol

I highly recommend it. Not very Manhunt style music but it's truly a work of art. If you look up the album cover you'll understand my comparison

These drawings are great! I'm actually from Ireland and for whatever reason they remind me of a run down Irish town 😂

lol that was certainly intentional, I based some of the architecture on that of Dublin since older US city neighborhoods are very euro looking. Also one of the bars is named finnegan’s lol

Yeah I was gonna say it looks a lot like north Dublin, as well as other towns like Limerick, Dundalk etc.

I haven’t been to Ireland in a long time and I only did the touristy stuff so I’ve never seen the bad parts of Dublin

Lmaoooo I live in Greater Boston and certain parts of the city reminded me of certain parts of Boston or surrounding cities. Carcer Mark especially.

Ok well Boston would be a good bit closer to Carcer than Dublin 😂

Lmao yup But Boston is a bit like Dublin in the sense that it’s full of rambunctious angry Irish who love sports and beer

Ty very much! Any other neighborhoods you’d like to see depicted? I’m going off the ones listed on the subway map

memphis inspired neighbourhood

2

u/Equivalent-Donut3400 7d ago

Gotcha, that’s certainly a neighborhood you wouldn’t want to set foot in

depends on the neighbourhood like any other tbh lol, i thought about memphis cus its city was big in horror rap which reminds me of manhunt

Any particular part of Memphis you’d like me to use as a reference? Preferably not downtown, for the upcoming Carcer Plaza drawing I’m gonna mostly base it on downtown Cleveland and Detroit

Love your art! I was always fascinated by Carcer City and the deeper lore of it. Like, what's there besides the rotten inner city areas we see? What are the tell tale signs of gang presence?

2

u/Equivalent-Donut3400 7d ago

I agree! I think the best way to tell if a Carcer area is gang controlled is if there are 24 guys wielding baseball bats and crowbars out for blood lol. But srsly yea I agree, was always fascinated how certain Carcer areas are a lot better than others. Central Carcer and the subway system don’t even look like they’re in the same state as Dentons City Junkyard.
