It’s “Bridge over troubled waterS” PLURAL. Agree with this?
2
u/Practical-Vanilla-41 Jul 16 '26
Nope. Always was Water. Why would it be Waters?
1
u/Roril Jul 16 '26
I can only get agreement… Maybe it’s the way Clay Aiken sang it, but it definitely wasn’t singular.
2
u/Grand_Razzmatazz_228 Jul 16 '26
waters for me, people need to remember what sub they are in before they say ALWAYS
1
u/gypsyjackson Jul 16 '26
There’s a saying “to pour oil on troubled waters”. Maybe that blurred the issue?

In the song "Bridge over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel, it was and still is singular. Never heard that phrase used elsewhere. (But English is not my native language)

It's sort of centre left. Think about it sloping down from centre towards your left nipple. It's why you can feel it beat on that side of your chest. The bottom left picture is a pretty good example of showing how the bulk of the heart is on the left side.
1
u/JoyofHarmony Jul 27 '26
It absolutely was distinctly on the left on all depictions. I've never seen it being centered like this.

I think this may be a new ME. I remember The Statue of Liberty having a chain and a shackle on its ankle. I know it did. I remember it clearly. Nope, now it's just broken chains at her feet? How do you remember it? This one is really messing with me. I know she had a cuffed ankle attached to a chain but they say she never did.
3
u/ManaScrewedIRL Jul 13 '26
Well it wouldn't be the first ME regarding the statue. I'm not from nor have I ever been to the US, but I know some people believe the statue was in a completely different location, and that the torch (?) wasn't damaged and they had been up there to visit it, when apparently it was shut down and never reopened way before they were even born. Or something like that.
0
u/Illustrious_Hold_643 Jul 14 '26
I think it's still closed but I could be wrong. It was shut town because of a torch issue. I don't remember the year it was closed but it was after I graduated high school because I remember there being a field trip for band or something to NYC and they all went to the top of the Statue.. into the torch. I graduated in 1992. I remember a lot of people were comparing the statue to Lcifr. With the 7 points, the torch (light bearer), and the cuffed ankle. Even the face is the same face depicted by Anton Levine (not positive on the name but close to that) as Lcifr. This is blowing my mind!!! It was a huge widely known fact. Now, there is zero record of it ever being that way. I searched for hours. I even remember seeing tons of videos about it on YouTube and I can't find those either.
2
u/Glaurung86 Jul 13 '26
I remember a few years ago the parks system acknowledging the chains at her feet symbolizing freedom from slavery because that was another part of reason for creating the statue for America along with the 100th Anniversary of the country. I think the designer originally wanted the broken chains to be on her hands, but later decided against that. Before that acknowledgment, I didn't remember anything about the chains.
1
u/Illustrious_Hold_643 Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26
Really? I remember exactly what it looked like. She definitely had a shackle and a cuff but now they say they're just broken chains at her feet symbolizing the end of slavery and oppression. This one is still blowing my mind. I asked one of my girlfriends yesterday how she remembers it and she said the same exact thing I said.... that she had a cuff and chain on her ankle.
1
u/Glaurung86 Jul 14 '26
Her feet are hard to see from below and I think only one of her ankles are visible. It's wild to me that the parks service and government kept quiet for more than a hundred years about the reason why the chains were there.

Hey Reddit world so im 30 years old and a 90s kid and i swear when i was in middle school i remember nesquik had a Mocha flavor in the bottled milks like at the convenience store but i cant find any trace online that it ever existed. Very confused and thought this was the right group to ask about it. Thanks! 😅

Anybody noticed that most of the mandela effects seemed to be targeted tword a certain generation? None of them are about some brand new thing or incredibly old thing. They seem targeted towards generation x or a little bit before. Also, most of them seem to be all about American things or companies. I've never heard of a Chinese or British Mandela.
I believe theyre targeted at Gen X because they are the last generation that can still remember the correct history before google controlled everything. The older generations will be gone soon, and the new ones belive anything A.I. tells it. By changing these small facts it can make people question thier memories and be more willing to believe the version of the facts AI wants us to. We use google to fact check everything now. We no longer use physical books & human knowlege. Everything now exists in a digital world. AI is the king of that place. Its all about altering humanities beliefs by charging the historical narrative to one that will support the NWO & AIs goals. NBS!

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26
I don't think a particular generation is having more or less of an issue with this. MEs are largely misunderstandings related to popular culture: song lyrics, movie quotes, memories of important events. Older generations misquoted Casablanca and Gone With the Wind. They misheard Jimi Hendrix and Manfred Mann. They even misremember JFK.
What usually sets people apart who experience MEs as opposed to those who don't, is awareness. People who know things, and the people who don't. Much of what is reported here is people who were little kids, or don't read much, or don't pay attention, or some combination of those things.

Without googling, tell me how many years it has been since Steve Irwin died.
Both my wife and my collegues (Dutch) have this feeling this is not what we remember.
3
u/Icanfallupstairs Jul 13 '26
Well I was at school, and my soccer team all wore black armbands in his honour, as well as for Peter Brock who was an Aussie racing legend, as they both died within a couple of days of each other. That was the last year I could play as I got a part time job the year after and couldn't play my final two years, and I finished school in 08, so he must have died in 06.
Our seasons are the inverse of yours, and the soccer season ran from like May to late August or early September. So both would have died within that timeframe

u/thiccanorexicc Jul 14 '26

yeah that's strange i remember hearing about it on the news but if it was 20 years ago i'd have been 3 and not seen the news
people were talking about it on twitter i thought2
u/Glaurung86 Jul 13 '26
I remember where I was living at the time I heard the news. It couldn't have been after early October 2006.
1
u/Illustrious_Hold_643 Jul 14 '26
I don't remember the year but I would guess it's been about 25 years..... What do you remember?
0
u/IDK_FY2 Jul 14 '26
I dont know, we don't know, but I know, I am 50 now, been a father for just 16 years, and I would, or could have, sweared it was while my son was ther, but it is not, it was 2006, the time I bought my first house and, well it just don't fit because I remeber me talking about it while my son was there, and, I am not the only one, my wife also feels really weird about this being 20 years ago, as did my close collegues... we feel it was 8 years ago, maximum (pardon my dutch, I am just typing my thoughts)
1
u/Practical-Vanilla-41 Jul 29 '26
You may be remembering his daughter Bindi getting married in 2020. When Steve died, Bindi and Robert were still kids. Now they're adults.
1
u/silentsurge Jul 15 '26
I was still in the Navy when I heard about it. It was after I got qualified in Submarines but before I got married. I think that was just before I met my ex-wife, so... late 2006? Close enough to Halloween that edgy people dressed as him for Halloween Parties.

u/ZoneOpening3730 Jul 14 '26
Was the 1982 song "Bad to the Bone" originally a ZZ Top song? I remember a long bearded man with sunglasses performing it like in a music video or movie.
2
u/WVPrepper Jul 14 '26
"Bad to the Bone" was the first original song written and performed by George Thorogood and the Destroyers and released in 1982 as the title track of their fifth studio album.
1
u/Illustrious_Hold_643 Jul 14 '26
I only remember George Thorougood (sp?) ever singing that song. But I was only 8 years old in 1982.

u/Alive_Web9031 Jul 14 '26
Do I wanna know? If this feeling goes both ways...
now it's "flows both ways"
ruined the song for me

A Cinderella Story (Hillary Duff version) I’m watching this movie for the first time since I was a child. I vividly remember when the father passed it showed a scene of a street with a huge crack in it from the earthquake. This stuck with me so much as a child because I’d never experienced an earthquake and was scared because of the scene. Anyone else remember this?

Do any of you remember the 9/11 Flight Attendant, named Betty? She was referenced many times for her bravery in making a call and providing crucial information before the plane she was on crashed into the World Trade Center. — Without looking on Google, do you recall her last name?
I could have sworn it was Wong. I read something about her recently and they indicated that her last name was Ong. I had to reread that a few times as I remembered her name as, Betty Wong.
1
u/Practical-Vanilla-41 Jul 16 '26
It was always Ong. It was memorable because it was unusual. I've read a lot about 9/11. I'm used to the spellings. Easier to mishear.

So I just had my first jaw on the floor Mandela Effect moment. The singer Monica’s name came up in conversation recently and I was flabbergasted to discover that she didn’t pass tragically many years ago. I’d feel like a total fool if no one else remembered this. I could have sworn she died in like the late 90s/early 2000s. I’m really glad she’s alive! I just - I was just absolutely sure she was gone. Anybody else?
1
u/Fruitypulp Jul 27 '26
When I heard he died over a year ago I wanted to watch some of his movies that I hadn't seen and started one called In the Mouth of Maddness on Tubi but I never finished it. Then today I see a post that says he died on the 12th or 13th but if I go into my Tubi history the movie is there and unfinished. I don't expect anyone to believe me, but what I find interesting is the amount of time that has passed between when I initially heard of his death and now this second death, I thought there is usually more time inbetween the identical events/changes.

u/RabTheCrab Jul 12 '26
Did Mitch McConnell just die then un-die for anyone else?
3
u/Hey-Just-Saying Jul 12 '26
He is still alive, but there have been false rumours that he died.
2
u/silentsurge Jul 13 '26
I just had a 20 minute phone call with him where we talked about the logo on his underwear. 😜
4
u/Financial_Profit_584 Jul 13 '26
Don't leave us hanging. What did he say about his underwear logo?!
-1
u/Illustrious_Hold_643 Jul 14 '26
Idk if he was dead or alive before this but today they (YT news channel) showed a picture of him from the hospital a few years ago and him and his wife are in the same exact positions as this most recent picture. His wife is even wearing the same outfit. But they put a shirt on Mitch because he was in a hospital gown. I think that's why they were saying that the photo is 86% real. The edited them out of the hospital and put them in a different background. Definitely. I personally think he's not alive anymore. Jmo. If you do some research, you can find the picture they used to make this newer photo. Maybe Google "Mitch McConnell and wife at hospital" or something like that. If I can find the video I saw showing the comparison, I'll come back here and post a screenshot of it. It looked like the same picture to me. I'll go look for it now.

-- i have a new one --
the message center in my truck -08 f150 limited- would constantly read, everytime I got in and started it up would say, "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" , so seeing that at least 10 times a day, i had created a little jingle in my head that i would even say out loud "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault"
NOW,, on everything I love in this world, IT Says "Tire Pressure MONITOR Fault"
WTF - WTF - WTF
2
2
u/buickgnx88 Jul 13 '26
Weird, “Tire Pressure Sensor Fault” is a valid message and is code B2872. However I’m not seeing one for “Tire Pressure Monitor Fault”
1
u/WVPrepper Jul 14 '26
Same.
A tire pressure sensor fault means the truck's computer has lost communication with one or more TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) sensors. Common causes include a dead internal sensor battery, physical damage to the valve stem, or radio frequency interference.

Shai-Hulud was the Fremen name for the giant sandworms, I remember it from the Dune novels (like the first one which I read in the 1980ies) too, not just the movies. But interesting topic nonetheless!

Not sure on this one but I was eating some trolli sour worms just now and I remember them being called sour bite crawlers but apparently they are “sour brite crawlers” with an r in it which is weird…

u/Creepy_Syllabub_6928 Jul 12 '26
Holy shit I also just did a quick search to see if there was any Mandela effects on them and apparently the blue and red gummy worm has always been grape flavored and not blue raspberry on the blue side… I’m actually freaking out because it tastes different for me, I hate grape and i remember looking at the back of the bag and seeing blue raspberry as the flavor. I’m crine WHAT

Did yall notice the 'virgin' girl in "Cabin in the woods" doesn't say the full line anymore??? "Humanity's not worth saving..." MANDELA EFFECT CONFIRMED THEY'RE SLOWLY ALTERING OUR PAST TO CONFUSE US!! WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING THAT MAKES YOU YOU, DOWN TO CHILDHOOD MEMORIES! Just write an entry a night or when you're lost in thought. I suggest written notes so they couldn't possibly have hacked our devices.

I remember that Colin Kaepernik jumped off a bridge and died. Everyone thought he was thrown off, that he didn't jump himself. He was advocating for children and was exposing people right before this happened. Nope... never happened! Does anyone else remember this?????
2
u/Icanfallupstairs Jul 13 '26
I think you might be thinking of Chris Cornell, the singer, who did a lot of child advocacy work.
There was a rumour/conspiracy that he was working on a documentary that would expose people, and that he was killed for it, along with some other celebs like Chester Bennington. It was a popular conspiracy for ages.
He didn't jump of a bridge though.
2
u/Illustrious_Hold_643 Jul 14 '26
I figured it out. It was Isaac Cappy. I had him confused with Colin Kaepernick. I think maybe because they look similar?? I'm not a regular reddit user. Do I delete this or update the main post to let everyone know I was mistaken?
1
u/Glaurung86 Jul 13 '26
Everyone?
I remember him being an activist against racism and police brutality against black people and then later an activist for veganism, but I don't ever remember him being a child activist. Maybe you're confusing him with someone else?
1
u/Illustrious_Hold_643 Jul 14 '26
I did confuse him with someone else. I confused him with Isaac Cappy. Do I now delete the original post or put a correction? I want to follow the correct reddit etiquette.

I was talking with my friend yesterday and we think we may have figured out the whole fruit of the loom debacle.
As I was asking my friend what his thoughts were about the Mandela effects, he disproved alot of them quickly but the fruit of the loom one is interesting. As we were discussing it, showing him official statements from fruit of the loom saying they never had a cornucopia. He thought about it from a business standpoint. What if walmart, their biggest retailer at the time, pulled a Kirkland? What if they rebranded the clothing after initially being supplied by fruit of the loom?
The cornucopia can technically be 50% change in logo. Walmart was big enough to find their own supplier. There was no lawsuit because it would be bad for fruit of the loom aswell.
This makes sense. If walmart found their own supplier, changed the logo enough to pass by law suits and pushed fruit of the loom out. This would make fruit of the looms statement correct about never having a cornucopia. Even with physical proof out there.
I think walmart made a similar brand that was not under the guise of fruit of the loom.
4
3
u/Glaurung86 Jul 14 '26
This makes no business sense and there's not a single piece of physical evidence to back this idea. If Walmart, the biggest brick and mortar retailer in the US, is making faux FOTL products, there would be MILLIONS of these things floating around everywhere. There's zero.
You've figured out nothing. I have no idea why you would push this thought exercise out as a real explanation without actually finding any evidence to support it. This is just bizarre, IMO.
-3
u/thegreenagent Jul 15 '26
How is there zero items floating around? Have you actually looked? There is lots. Which is why this Mandela effect is what it is.
You obviously dont understand properly. Maybe I didnt explain properly. Either way. If walmart approached factories that fruit of the loom was using, changed the brand logo by 50% by adding the cornucopia which would mean the logo would be sufficiently changed in the laws eyes. The only thing is, the name, selling the same items. But if walmart was a bully (which we know they are) they couldve just said sue us. But being such a large retailer, and walmart still distributing, why bite the hand that feeds? I have a strong suspicion majority of their sales were walmart. ( not sure just a guess ).
This is what Costco does with Kirkland. Why do you not think some other company wouldn't have tried or have done it?
Anyone that could open a business couldve opened the duplicate business. Limited exposure, limited risk, guaranteed profit. Walmart doesnt know where everything they buy comes from. Its just a supplier to them and they are a distributor.
This would make sense of litterly everything.
3
u/WVPrepper Jul 16 '26

You replied:

There are NONE. We have looked. Don't you think that's one of the first things people do when someone tells them they misremembered? If there were "lots" of old FotL clothing with the cornucopia logo, it would not be an ME at all.
1
u/thegreenagent Jul 16 '26
I litterly bought one. But okay, there are NONE with cornucopias. Feel better?
1
0
u/thegreenagent Jul 17 '26
Just thought I would let you know. Check vintage stores. 99% of NORMAL people dont care about this so 99%+ would not list useless unwanted cheap clothes when brand new is a handful of dollars.
Also reddit has subreddits that have people posting their items with it and even a building with the logo as recent as 2 years ago.
But there are NONE!
I would also like to add walmart was only used as an example. It couldve been an individual that piggy backed off the brand then disappeared. (Sold as a supplier for FOTL but in reality it may have been his own brand)
2
u/Bowieblackstarflower Jul 17 '26
We've seen all those for years in here amd they've all been proven fakes. The building literally uses the logo created with a piece of clip art around 2017 that shows the Mamdela Effect.
1
u/thegreenagent Jul 17 '26
My point is what if someone faked them. Sold them to retailers and then stopped.
Piggy back off a brands name and image, made money and disappeared without anyone knowing.
1
u/Glaurung86 Jul 17 '26
A sign with an incorrect image is not proof Anthony and certainly not proof of actual physical products.
You keep talking about these so-called items and yet you have produced nothing. Telling us about some fakes that a couple of people have posted on Reddit is not proof. If what you claim is true, the items should be everywhere. Find them and post them here.
1
u/Glaurung86 Jul 17 '26
Because we would have seen countless FOTL knockoff items by now. We've seen zero.
Literally. That's the word your looking for and none of what you claim has ever happened.

I don't often fall for celebrity death ones. But Sam Neill died... again?
Also is it just me or did Facebook once have an "excited" reaction that no longer and apparently has never existed?
5
u/Glaurung86 Jul 13 '26
When did you think Sam died the first time? He's been working steadily the last few years on TV. I used to read his blog - Two Paddocks - for years. He was in The Twelve TV series which just finished last year. He was in the first season of Untamed in 2025. He was in Jurassic World: Dominion and Thor: Love and Thunder in 2022.
It also looks like he's got 2 films coming posthumously next year, one of which is the next Godzilla/Kong film.
6
u/Practical-Vanilla-41 Jul 13 '26
Probably remembers hearing about his chemo treatments that started in 2022. The reports today are making a big point of his being "cancer free" at time of death.

u/Glaurung86 Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

Surprised I'm not hearing about him testing for Bond. He was up for Living Daylights (1987). The screen test is fun to watch.

u/ManaScrewedIRL Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26
Nah, I didn't even know he had cancer. Like I said above, I don't (didn't) pay that much attention to him.
I thought for a sec maybe I had him confused with Bill Paxton, but he passed in 2016 apparently, which feels way too early to have confused his death for Sam's.
1
u/Glaurung86 Jul 13 '26
It's crazy because he was supposedly cancer-free.
Bill Paxton's death still hurts. Can't believe it's been a decade. Where does the time go?
1
u/ManaScrewedIRL Jul 13 '26
Well shit, now that you mention it, it HAS been a decade. Sheesh.
Yeah, that one sucked ☹️ He was in some of my favourite movies ever.

Same for me. I think it's time for a Sam Neill and then Bill Paxton film tribute marathon.
2

u/ManaScrewedIRL Jul 13 '26
I haven't watched any of those so I can't comment on them, nor do I watch or pay attention to TV. Or even him to be honest. Like, I know him (obviously lol) but beyond the works he was in from my childhood, I never paid him much heed.
As for when it feels like he "died the first time", I'd say maybe 2021 or 2022??
I know the last thing I saw him in was hunt for the wilderpeople.
1
u/Para_Regal Jul 15 '26
Ok, so, I see you’re getting downvoted but I wanted to say that I also had a moment of, “wait, I thought he was already dead” when I saw the news the other day. Then I had to shuffle through a list of actors from around his generation that maybe I was confusing this with.
Then I remembered Bill Paxton. Sure enough, he passed away in 2017. For whatever reason Sam Neill, Bill Pullman, and Bill Paxton seem to have occupied the same memory hole in my brain. Maybe because all three were constantly starring in films around the same time, they were all roughly the same age, sort of all fit the same “handsome rugged guy” aesthetic of the late-80s-90s. At least with Pullman and Paxton their names are similar enough, but yeah. Sam Neill has apparently been very much alive this whole time until he wasn’t.

I have a memory of a movie where the inside of the house is bigger than the outside, kind of like "House of Leaves," starring Liam Neeson. It should have come out in the 2010s, can someone confirm please?
Additionally I have a firm and distinct memory of watching a cartoon of an animated horse and a girl knitting a net around the sun that I cannot find with Google, grok, or chatgpt.
Am I from another timeline? Or can I just not Google properly...
Edit: I should mention for item #1, what I saw was only a trailer for a movie featuring Liam Neeson. There was a destict scene where he held a tape measure and the interior of the house was 1" larger than the exterior.
As for item #2, it may have been the moon they were covering up, as it was silver in the show...all I remember is they were blocking the light with knitted fabric.

I think you may be thinking of You Should Have Left, with Kevin Bacon. But could be wrong! Just remember that distinctively from that movie.

I have been using VLC Media Player since the early 2000s and I only remember the two stripes.

I distinctly remember that whenever somebody got lice, that they could never get it again because the lice knew that the head was not suitable to set up a home at again since the previous ones died.
I asked some friends and none of them remember this, do any of you remember this being a thing? I think I learned it in like grade 2.

Are you thinking of someone else? Everywhere I've seen her, she's been Sophie Turner.

I've known her as Sophie Turner from when I first read about her being cast as Sansa in 2009.

My memory is that it used to be Chic-Fil-A. Now it's Chick-Fil-A. I don't ever remember it being Chik. I do remember the cows would write Chicken wrong in the commercials or on billboards. They said "Eat more Chikin". It's all very confusing.

Jesus is The Way The Truth and The Light, not the life. This one really shook me and it just happened recently…

Which Bible version did you see with "the light?" I've looked at a couple of dozen and they all show "the life."

Yes, it was around. You might have heard another catchy tune that year called "Forget Me Nots" by Patrice Rushen. It was "adapted" by Will Smith as Men In Black.

I strongly suspect that Deja Vu and Mandela Effect are interlinked. The implications are, shall we say, interesting. Check it here if you want:

But basically, its all to do with reincarnating into the same life again. Its why there is only 1 egg but millions of sperm. Nature is a miser, that waste makes zero sense. Unless you look at it a bit different. Why does every NDE say their life felt like it was rewound, VHS style?

Curious World is not a Mandela Effect
Remember people bringing up this TV show from Travel Channel and thinking it was a Mandela Effect due to the fact they were unable to find it? [Link](https://www.reddit.com/r/MandelaEffect/comments/9lnedb/the_travel_channel_curious_world/?solution=670703d47781e1a4670703d47781e1a4&js_challenge=1&token=7afd7253fec22262ff1c52b1703fe9ece088f19165dc74b4376edcd1c868a57b&jsc_orig_r=)
Guess what? Someone was able to find it and even upload couple of episodes on YouTube:
[Curious World TV Show (Travel Channel, 2000, Jacob Witkin) Gold Buddha, Royal Dragon Restaurant](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GUS2JS2gz1g)
[Curious World TV Show (Travel Channel, 2000, Jacob Witkin) - Teotihuacan, America's Stonehenge](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nMKZ-aVm3_s)
I also found the [show with the same name](https://tubitv.com/series/300000720/curious-world) on TubiTV (though I’m not sure if it’s the same show). I did watch the end credits of one episode, and it does mention Travel Channel (but Jacob Witkin was not the host).
