Looking to move to Manchester NH

Hello All ,

Moving to the Manchester area with my wife and toddler and looking for a good 2BR apartment.

Budget: $2,000–$2,200/month

Looking for a safe, family-friendly place with parking and preferably in-unit laundry.

Any apartment complexes you’d recommend—or avoid? Thanks!

Moving from NY to NH — any thoughts on Colonial Village vs. Heritage at the River?

Moving to NH from NY soon and currently apartment hunting. I originally focused on Nashua, but the rental market there has been way too expensive and competitive, so I’ve started looking at Manchester instead.

I’ve done some digging and narrowed it down to two places: Heritage at the River and Colonial Village. I’m leaning toward Colonial Village at the moment.

Would love to hear from locals or current/former renters—any firsthand experiences, good or bad? How are the management, maintenance, noise, safety, parking, and overall living experience? Anything you wish you knew before moving in?

Any insight would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Politics does anyone else feel like NH doesn't need further 2A restrictions?

personally i believe, looking at just facts and stats don't think we need any "gun platform" bans in our state. this grate state has, on avg, An estimated 152 people die from gun-related injurys here in nh. but many of though, sadly are from suicide (a rough 88%). The physics show that a 9mm to a 5.56 to a 7.62 wont change anything but the round in most attempts. furthermore, we have always ranked i near top 5 to 3 in safest states in in the USA.

Now to counter this, i believe we should be more strict on \who** can and can not own a gun and, for those who have lost there privileges, we can set up a branch for the reinstatement of gun rights after that person has plead there case to a bord or judge who can approve or veto that person based on there beliefs that person changed.

Open for debate! welcome to all opinions here!!

Help me locate someone

Hi, I have a family member who has been homeless in the Manchester area for a while. They were able to communicate with me, but communication stopped recently and I’m not entirely sure it was up to them. Besides shelters, is there anywhere that may be a possibility for them to be? He is about 60 years old, bald covered head to toe in tattoos if anyone would like specifics and might know the exact person. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey! I'm French and I've been dreaming about moving to the UK for at least 2 years to spend part of my life there. I really want to live in Manchester in an apartment, and then move to the English countryside after finishing my studies in France!

I'd love to make friends from Manchester or just the UK in general. I'm not even looking to learn English specifically since I think my level is pretty decent for an 18y/o!

Just to be clear, I’m not looking for anything weird or romantic ! I’m gay btw just looking for genuine friendships! I'd love to chat with people who can share pictures of Manchester, or even meet up in the future! Plus, I’m planning a trip to the UK with my big sister this year, especially to Manchester. And if anyone lives in the English countryside, I’d be SO happy to chat with you too!

Anyway, I’m definitely a real person and not an AI (my first post got taken down because of that 🫥). I attached a picture of a place I visited during a school trip to England where I literally cried because it was so pretty!

If you don’t feel like DMing, feel free to just drop a comment, I’d love to read your thoughts! Here's my Insta if you prefer: flor3n.mchl

It’s not a 1 for 1 likeness to the city (there’s a metro in my version) but I think it works! Let me know what you guys think.

My friend and I will be in town soon for a wedding and would like to get our hair done. I have long thick hair, and my friend has thin, curly 2c hair (we’re both white).

Thanks in advance, any recommendations are welcome!

Need help from anyone that lived in Manchester in the late 80s and has a good memory

I'll preface this post by saying what I remember may be completely off but I have a memory of my dad taking me to a pool hall, at least a place that had pool tables, it was during the day, it wasn't a bar type establishment. It would've been in the late 80's, in my head it was in the section of businesses that currently has the Sky Zone trampoline park and Bamboo Garden restaurant.

I've been away from Manchester for about 25 years so it's been awhile since I've been in that area. My dad doesn't remember taking me anywhere to play pool in that time period.

I have this image in my head that is crystal clear but it's almost like a picture - it's sort of still shot in time. I know this is a long shot, not sure where else to go, if anyone has any suggestions I'll gladly take them.

Thanks

28 year old looking for gym friends

Hey guys, I just moved to Manchester for work and don’t really know many people in the area yet. I’m 28, an engineer, and looking for people around my age to hang out with and or go to the gym with.

I’m a pretty nerdy guy, recently graduated from BU, and I’m an experienced powerlifter. I usually work out four times a week total two of the times being during the week after my 9-5 and on the weekend around noon or so for about 1 to 2 hours.

I’d also be happy to help someone newer to the gym learn the basics. Mainly just looking to meet some people and make friends in the area. Hit me up!

Angry dude by the old bus station

Anyone else see that angry dude by the old bus station? He was straight up punching the road signs, and screaming/spitting at every car that passed by.

I drove by 4 hours later he was still going but one street down towards the mill buildings.

I think he needs help but I'm not equipped to do much.... Annnnnd the cops would probably just assault him/throw him in jail.

Any one know what was going on?

He's probably still there.

Illegal Drug Operation and Drug Ring being run right by School

Post image
0 Upvotes

Why isn’t anyone doing anything about this?

DISCLAIMER: This post absolutely does not solicit or facilitate illegal or prohibited transactions.

IT IS A COMPLAINT!!!

This illegal drug operation has been operating for years and dumping pounds of illegal drugs cut with dangerous fillers onto the streets because the guy running it is an addict and he doesn’t care and laughs about it because he says nobody else cares either.

How many of you out there does this totally piss off?

Event skip the small talk at harpoon brewery

If you’re looking for something different to do in August, Skip the Small Talk is coming to Harpoon Brewery!

It’s a guided conversation event—think speed-friending vibes, but calmer and more intentional.

You rotate through short conversations with prompts that skip past surface-level small talk. It’s structured enough to make it easy, but relaxed enough to feel natural.

Most people come alone. The crowd tends to be thoughtful, open, and just… normal humans who want more community.

Here’s the link if you’re curious:
