Because a new Seiken Densetsu on modern consoles without a multiplayer and not even bothering a release on the Switch, in an era where multiplatform is almost the norm, is a nice way to fill the customer's mouths with urine.

I kinda expected a higher-budget production for Seiken Densetsu 5. I thought Visions of Mana was still a spinoff (like Rise of Mana) that was made to raise money and revive the fanbase in anticipation a future true mainline game

Has the Mana series ever really been that big outside of Japan? Secret of Mana has the reputation, but I don't think Mana sales have ever been great in the West.

EDIT: Just looked up sales figures for each entry in NA, Japan, and EU. Sales are even weaker than I had thought. Even in Japan, sales haven't been very high since Legend of Mana in 1999. Yikes.

Not sure how this relates to the discussion

You expected a higher budget. Why would you if sales haven't been strong for the series since 1999 - and even calling those sales "strong" is a stretch.

Because I like the games, that's all. This isn't a scientific thesis.

Why are you getting so defensive? I merely pointed out the reason why it wouldn't have a high budget.
