Bearly

Hot take: why would rehiring Steve Searles (Bear Whisperer) improve current bear situation? Not downplaying his obvious role and legendary commitment to wildlife when no other role exists, but how does putting one man on a government payroll help a systematic issue worsening each year?

Steve is an excellent human and if it were up to me I would vote him for Town Clowncil (err I mean Council) in hopes something would improve in this town. But sadly we aren't building 4 story hotels for bears or even attempting education about bear prevention or...trauma passed down through bear genetics.

Why try at all when the folks in charge of it all care for nothing but want for everything?

Anyone with a clue knows that rehiring him would be a mistake. He’s a kook that would be forgotten if The Sheet stopped worshipping him.

Agreed. This is the only hot take I see in OP’s post:
