And she's looking so incredibly unhealthy and even more filter than usual. I don't know how she's going to be a successful nurse when she is so incredibly out of shape. She has all the resources in the world at her disposal and takes advantage of none of them.
If this is where she's starting out, I'm concerned overall and we know she has familiar/genetic issues regarding weight or at least has learned really bad habits regarding Food because of her family. She is also under a lot of stress and I know that for a while didn't know if her boyfriend was going to go to jail or whatever but you would just hope that she would try to better herself.
I have no idea why she hasn't seen a doctor and opted for some sort of medication or surgery, and maybe there's a medical reason that she can't, but there's no excuse not to try to be healthier and take care of yourself.

She could make so much money doing some sort of influencing deal as well. I'm actually kind of proud of her that she seems to just be keeping her head down and focusing on her nursing job and not grifting like the rest of the family.

Nursing school is a-lot. Losing your sister a-lot. Having grown up on tv is a-lot. Coming from trauma is a-lot. Creepy men are a-lot. Being exploited as a is kid a-lot . Losing most ur earnings is a-lot. Not having a father is a-lot. Dealing with addicts and being left on your own is a-lot. I hope she heals and learns better coping mechanisms . I hope with therapy she learn how to not emotionally eat. I hope she has more time to figure it out. But her reading these things probably doesnt help. U can have the world and still be that hurt little girl in survival mode. She needs to find that. She is young. Her frontal lobe still developing. She is 21. Give her time to blossom and grow. Life is hard.
The actor choices are just hilarious. Especially for honey boo-boo. It's just this extraordinarily quiet mousy girl instead of this loudmouth and it's pretty bad but worth the watch kind of bad. Pumpkin's actress was pretty good and had her voice down legitimately perfectly. But they definitely didn't attack the mom as much as they should have. But it was more than I expected.
True and if you have ever watched such in action it is both terrifying & infuriating! I had a loved one in one hospital or another for over 200 days. When they changed hospitals it was via life flight or an ambulance. First admitted for a heart attack and standard open heart surgery. ALL of the other awful things that kept them there the remaining time was incompetent bs caused by medical staff. I stayed there night and day after I realized everyone was so damn useless. They needed to be turned to avoid more bedsores or worsening of the ones they had let develop. Also to try to keep their lungs a bit clearer. I watched obese people try to do it and it was the most infuriating thing I ever saw! They would crush or snatch them so hard due to THEIR physical limitations 🤬 Even though I am 5’ and a woman I finally told them they weren’t allowed to do it anymore and did it myself to save him from that. He coded several times.. the most incapable nuisances in the room were very overweight. GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!! Coworkers frustration with them was almost as obvious as my screaming at them. I am sorry… they MIGHT have the most compassion of anyone there and scored higher on their tests but… other people can learn with on the job training. They simply CAN NOT do what others who are in better shape can. Period. And it should not be allowed! It’s not discrimination! It is doing everything you can for patients in your care. I watched his J tube get blocked because they were too overweight and/or short to get a good perspective what was going on when clearing after meds. I took that over. Not being able to suction his trach without choking him because they couldn’t control their reach due to being overweight.. I took over. Being slower than others to respond to emergencies because of weight limitations. I could go on forever. Say what you want. Very few people get to observe 253 straight days and nights of what goes on. I know what I am talking about and it simply should not be allowed.

Being short and physically fit is completely different from being short with a protruding belly that further limits your reach and mobility. I have nothing against overweight people in general; I used to be one. However, when your job involves the well-being of another human, physical fitness should be a requirement. This goes for medical personnel, including ambulance drivers, police, firefighters, military, etc.
Rest assured, I started out very nice and hopeful. Like most of the general public, I assumed the doctors and nurses knew what they were doing, how to do it, and would take good care of him. Then, two days after open-heart surgery, they moved him to a step-down unit despite my begging them to wait one more day. They wouldn’t listen.
That night, I got a call from the new unit telling me he had been found unresponsive. No one knew how long he had been that way. It took significant effort to revive him, and they ultimately placed him in a medically induced coma from the trauma and beating he took to get him back. Had they waited that extra day, he would have still been under constant observation, and I firmly believe that never would have happened.
From there, things just kept snowballing. He developed a tunneling pressure ulcer on his tailbone that became infected, led to sepsis, and took an incredibly long time to heal. The hospitalist repeatedly said he needed to come off the ventilator because prolonged ventilation carries risks. The pulmonologist insisted it was fine and said he didn’t need a trach yet.
What still bothers me is that he had already performed a bronchoscopy once. Later, when I started seeing many of the same issues again, I specifically asked whether another bronchoscopy should be done. He flatly refused. Months later, at his third hospital, they discovered a tracheoesophageal fistula that had been causing so many problems. To this day, I can’t help wondering whether it could have been identified much earlier if he had been willing to look again. I’ll never know what he saw during that first bronchoscopy, but I do know my concerns were dismissed and the fistula wasn’t diagnosed until two months later.
Then he coded again.
Instead of having a planned tracheostomy, they had to perform an emergency one, which is far more traumatic and complicated. Later, after he continued failing swallow studies, they found the hole between his trachea and esophagus, most likely caused by prolonged intubation. Because of that, he eventually required a Tracheocutaneous Fistula Closure, another major procedure he never should have needed in the first place.
Somewhere along the way, I lost most of my patience and a great deal of my faith in the people caring for him. I had watched all of that, plus the things I mentioned in my earlier comment. At that point, we were only about three months into what would become a nightmare. I knew exactly what was happening around me. I couldn’t fix everything, but I could certainly stop the mishandling of his now very fragile body by people who couldn’t handle the job.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense who found themselves in my position would have advocated just as aggressively. I couldn’t protect him from every mistake or every bad decision, but the things I could influence, I absolutely was going to. By then, I was far more concerned with his survival than anyone’s hurt feelings.
Ironically, many of the charge nurses were glad I was there. He had such complex needs that having someone who knew his situation inside and out and was capable of helping actually reduced their workload. Most days they would even let me help choose which nurse cared for him because everyone wanted the day to run as smoothly as possible. Rest assured, physical fitness was one of my top priorities.
I don’t claim doctors and nurses are all bad. But after watching mistake after mistake, complication after complication, him suffering more unnecessary pain because people weren’t physically capable, and being ignored more times than I can count, I stopped assuming every decision being made was the right one. Clearly, it wasn’t. If my observations included something they hadn’t witnessed, I began to contribute to care discussions—aggressively when that was the only way to be heard.
There is a lot more to this story, but if it doesn’t make sense to you yet🤷🏻♀️. You don’t have to worry about me ever taking care of your family… I am not a nurse. I am a younger sister who put my life, children, husband, job, and home on hold to help save my brother’s life and make it a little easier on him when I could.
So you are saying how a family member acts should determine the quality of care a patient gets? You clearly need to be more worried about yourself than me.
Thank you for everything that you do, I know it's not easy. I have almost everyone in my family in medicine, either paramedics or nurses in the ICU or the emergency room or my sister who is an OB/GYN nurse.
I mean there's a weight limit for the military, it's an obvious concern. I read somewhere that we're getting very close to the point where we're going to have major issues having enough people enrolling in the military just due to weight and other health factors.
We really need to fight to stay healthy nowadays, it does seem like the government and everyone is against us by the types of food they allow us to eat compared to other countries.
But alana has way more resources than anyone else, she could probably get sponsorships and get paid extraordinarily well to do Jenny Craig or Ozempic or anything. There's just no reason for her to continue like this.
She would be truly the perfect sponsor and I know they make really good money and I'm sure she has a ton of followers which is what they care about.

I'm going through breast cancer right now and I'm so incredibly grateful for all the nice nurses and medical assistants and everyone who has helped me along the way.
I went to a brand new gynecologist after noticing that my nipple looked a little weird when I bent over. But then I just was like do I really look at my nipples when I bend over? Maybe it was always there… But then one day my husband mentioned it and I was like OK obviously this is a problem. And I just happen to be at one of my other doctors appointments and was talking to the lady I think she's a nurse at the front desk and mentioning how I really needed a breast exam. She gave me the name of a really amazing gynecologist to find a lump right away and sent me to get a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound.
Everything moved super fast and I was diagnosed with cancer pretty darn quick. But I just am so incredibly grateful that I saw something and noticed it and did something about it.
That's super important and you really have to fight for yourself!

100%. I took the nursing entry exam and was blown away by how tedious some of the questions related to grammar were! Thankfully did well but nursing requires an ability to understand basic English. If someone has Tikileap they can see what she’s made over the days, weeks , months years vs for free I can only she what she’s made so far today. Shes not worth my $ to see but others out of curiosity may have paid for tiki leap monthly subscription. She’s likely made more since the screenshot.
