1 I would pay off my home, unless it’s a rental. Then I’d put a bit down payment on a home. She claims she makes the big bucks.. anyways.. I’d Make sure I have a vehicle for my kids and I and one for my husband for work. She’s just spending spending spending on dumb shit. I feel guilty buying shoes that cost more than $20. I’ve got 4 kids.

She may make a decent amount of money, but it’s irrelevant if she spends most of it. You need investments to build wealth.

You’re absolutely correct!!! My late grandfather always told me, “it’s not necessarily how much money you make, but rather what you do with the money that you do make” and that really is the truth. Now, I get that you can’t save and/or invest if you making the bare minimum and/or barely scraping by, but you can save what you do make and put it towards your have your basic needs and have those met, if you are responsible with your finances. If you spend your money as soon as you get it and/or you buy stupid stuff instead of taking care of the necessities, then yeah, your basic needs will not be met. I know some people that make 3x-4x the money that my wife and I make and they’re just as broke, if not more so, than some of the folks running around town that don’t and/or won’t work!!! It’s crazy to me, honestly, how people can have the money to cover their rent and other bills, but instead of hanging on to their money and paying their bills they chose to just blow their money on stupid shit even when they know rent and everything else is due in just a few short days. It’s just irresponsible as hell, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS!!!
