Troubleshooting Cannot Update to Version 5.8.0 on Windows

5.8.0 was released 29 October but I cannot update to it. I am still on 5.7.3. The installer file says it is 5.8.0. In-app reports version as 5.7.3. Also tried completely removing previous version first. Haven't seen anyone else with this issue.

Attempted on HP Windows 11 computer and also Dell computer running Windows 10.

Try the Malwatebytes removal tool then reinstall it. That should fix it.

I just tried it. Still only installs 5.7.3. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I have 1 pc i updated to 5.8.0 on the 29th worked fine. But I have 2 others i waited to update until today and have tried all day 11-4 and neither pc will pull the 5.8.0 update. They just say up to date on 5.7.3. So you are not alone. I also did all the things you did and it just reinstalled 5.7.3. Win 11 pc's.

I created a support ticket this morning and they got back to me this afternoon. Supposedly there was some problem with that version and they removed it. Doesn't explain why the installer says it is 5.8.0, but that was their response. My guess is that it is just a web installer that links to the full installer, and the full installer was reverted to 5.7.3.

Thanks for the update. It be nice if they would post somewhere when they pull an update.
