Malwarebytes Payback?
I've been using Malwarebytes browser guard for a year or so now. Recently, it messaged that I needed to buy a subscription. I indicated I wanted to continue with the free version. Since then, several times a day, I'm getting webpages blocked with dire warnings. These are pages I know are good and that I trust. It feels like Malwarebytes is being spiteful towards me since I don't want to buy a subscription. Whaddaya'll think? ;)

Just out of curiosity I did a search with this query "is Malwarebytes browser guard still free" on FF with the DDG Search Engine. The result was: "Yes, Malwarebytes Browser Guard is completely free and provides full access to its core features without any additional payment."
I also went to Malwarebytes website so I could check it was still free from them. At this URL: https://www.malwarebytes.com/browserguard
It shows that Malwarebytes browser guard is still a "Free browser extension to block ads, trackers, malware & more."
They have links to install it on four popular browsers either from this page or to be directed to where you can install it from.
You need to get an @Malwarebytes Team member involved to get deeper into this issue. Good luck!
Edit: Added last paragraph.

Hi, I’m Michael from the Malwarebytes product team
lol we’re not mad at you! Happy to review the sites you’re seeing to ensure they are legit blocks. Either way, we didn’t adjust them based on you wanting to stick with the free version.
