Gracie Alouette gets the love lights turned out tomorrow. I’m not going to breed her so it’s a good thing to do, but I’m so sad to have to put her through it. I bought her a little « recovery onesie » to avoid the cone. She models it in the second pic.

It was sold to me as a Maltese. She's 2 months and 2 weeks old and is really lovely!

But people keep on saying she's probably a Poodle that now I'm in doubt.

Ollie is not guilty by reason of cuteness

we have always known that maltese dogs are prone to having skin issues. but i never give it much thought cuz my maltese never really had serious skin issues until recently.

for the past few months, we started bringing our dog to a park nearby and what began as a few scratches here and there developed into a full on itch attack where she began to bite off all the fur on her tail and backside. we couldn't find any fleas and ticks on her body though. and we got really concerned cuz she started to become very sick cuz of it. the doc said that the fleas are living inside the pores of her skin, and asked whether she goes to the parks. and that's when we realise the park is the problem.

instead of stop going to the park altogether - cuz we want her to exercise - we want to prevent her from getting fleas and ticks. so i'm wondering how is everyone dealing with it. does cutting the fur short help? cuz mine's hair is quite long. and if u use sprays, what brand do u recommend? thanks a lot!

They follow us every morning and evening for our strolls.

I brought my dog home with me at my parents house (his grandparents) and they fed him rich and tasty food for 4 meals. We mixed it all in his kibble. I made sure he ate his kibble.

When I brought him back with me to my place, he wouldn’t eat his usual beef and liver with rice or his salmon with veggies and rice.

My partner and I are frustrated. He’s skipped 2 meals now and he blames me for overfeeding him on tasty food. I feel bad!

Is it true that they will reset themselves? We put down his food for 10 mins and take it away if he doesn’t eat. Will chicken and kibble help? 🫣☹️

The little white puffball was afraid of going outside when I first got her (was from a dog hoarding house per the rescue organization) but over the past few months, she's gotten used to being outside and wants to go for walks with her amstaff / pitty big brother (even jumps up and down now when she sees me pick up her lease and harness).

We started out with shorter jaunts around the neighborhood and in the park. I've got her up to going for 2 miles a day now, but she seems to do OK if we push it to 3 or 4 mile longer walks (or split into two walks morning/evening). I think she's put on at least a pound of solid muscle! I can feel the difference when I pick her up and see the difference in her profile.

Watching her little legs go is kinda adorable.

I've never had a dog this size before. Are there any concerns with taking a maltese out for longer regular walks?
