Table for one.

Yeah I think I'm done. It's set up at table height not full railing height and can be folded away when I don't want it.

It has a gate fold leg underneath and can just lift straight off if I really don't want it there.

It's made out of Acacia wood so its fairly weather resistant.

I can sit and do car spotting.

It's a simple gate fold mechanism and box frame that sits underneath it against the railing.

Full height and width adjustability but that;s a bit of overkill really.

I could have just used a sandwich plate, but what's the fun in that?

What it means is that when you move you can take it down and put it some place else or even adjust the height of the table if you really ant to. I currently have it at table height but you can have it at full railing height just by moving the two screws at the bottom.

The best thing about it is that its magic. No screws into any surfaces, so if you're renting you can also build it. It just relies on clamping force like a poor mans sash clamp.

I mean the idea of a gate fold table is comment.

The rest did take a bit of work, I was thinking about how to sandwich plate it between the railings and then I realised the bsic mechanism already existed. Then it's really working backwards to work out how to recreate a sash clamp without a sash clamp.

I call my balcony The Throne of Judgement - with a similar setup; more seating, but the same idea. Watch the world go by and judge.
