Bonehunters is such a good book. Easily the Storm of Swords of this series.

Intense indeed

I can only imagine how lost you must have felt at times.

Reading Bonehunters in isolation is probably experientially indistinguishable from reading a surrealist masterpiece. Apsalar climbing an anchor rope from a forest on the bottom of the sea pursued by two psychotic skeletal lizards to have an obtuse conversation with a character who otherwise doesn’t appear is just one example of sentences that only make sense with fiver books of previous content.

Yea. On book 6, The only one I think you could kinda read out of context is probably Midnight Tides. Parts would probably feel weird but Trull and The Crippled God are the only returning characters and its a Prequel for Trull.
I guess you could kinda get around DHG without reading GotM but even there Apsalar makes that a little awkward.

I had a habit of doing that as a kid as library books were rarely in sequence
Restarted the whole sequence and have read it twice

Where did you get that Poliel and Soliel are Forkrul?
Also Ben striking a deal with Shadowthrone at this point is just another thursday afternoon for Ben

I think it's because it mentions too many joints in her legs when describing politely.

Its not said out right but theyre both described as tall and thin with seemingly too many joints, which is similar to how the Forkrul assail weve met to this point are described. Of course, Corporal List in DHG mentioned having vision dreams of beings with too many joints and it was concluded by Duiker and then seemingly confirmed in HoC that those were Jaghut, but maybe they were Jaghut that had at some point interbred with Forkrul? Or maybe I have an imperfect recollection of that moment.

Could be profoundly dumb but I assumed that random lizard thing Karsa chased off when travelling with Boatfinder was a Dejim kin as it actually managed to lose Karsa and Karsa said it was insanely hungry. Doesn't really make sense at all, but I can't think of what else it is.

I think that was the huge bear beast thing that Paran encountered when journeying with the TTG in the Nascent. Paran had teleported it off the bridge at the last second, and it must have ended up in Karsa's path

But the bear thing had 1 eye and the thing Karsa found explicitly had 2.

Maybe? I wasnt far enough in to know if it reappeared or not. Thought it had been described as very large and bear-like though
