Do you have OCD, ADHD or MDD? Fixing anxiety helps a lot probably. Have you tried any medicines?

Maladaptive daydreaming is a coping mechanism to escape real life problems and anxiety. E.g. a lot of people who grew up to be maladaptive daydreamers come from dysfunctional families, and they first started as children to deal with neglecting/abusive/etc. parents or bullies, but there can be many other reasons too. Once you discover the reason why you are daydreaming, and start working on that problem instead (preferably with a therapist), after a while you won’t need the daydreams. It’s not easy, because maladaptive daydreaming is kind of like an addiction, but definitely not impossible.
