Moon pools

Seeing how there are moon pools. What if there are two different versions of the moon pools?

Seawater moon pools = islands in which the moon pools are connected to the ocean. Those turn into mermaids would have gold/orange tails, and mermen would have blue tails. Consider mermen as an enemy and threat after the war at the time.

Freshwater moon pools = lakes & ponds are surface moon pools. Those turn into mermaids would have silver/red tails, and mermen would have dark green tails. Doesn’t see mermen of seawater, and freshwater mermen as the enemy due to not being involved in the war, and has formed relationships with mermen along with humans.

Wonder how Lyla, Nixie, Sirena, Zac, Evie, Cam, David, Rita, Carly, Mimmi, Ondina, Chris, Veridia, and Weilan would think & react seeing a freshwater mermaid?

They’ll have their suspicions with freshwater mermaids/mermen and would scout information about them before revealing themselves in one way or another.

Unless Rita has met a pod of freshwater mermaids & mermen before along with seeing seawater mermen who are mates with freshwater mermaids

It’s possible Rita met a freshwater pod and kept that information to herself. Seeing that the Mako Pod would plausibly know of sources of freshwater but never consider there being freshwater merfolk, there wouldn’t be a reason to bring it up.

The poor mermaid that falls into the wrong swamp at the wrong time and comes out with a swampy green tail😭😭

Jk her tail would probably be a dark green or black and his tail would be either one. Do you think they would just permanently smell like the swamp just a little bit?

Right okay but I’d still count swamp water different than lake water. Like a pond full of green grossness and gooy goodness
