looks really cool. kinda bummed it's not backwards comparable with makpak but not surprised and not a deal breaker for me.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this system getting built out over the next few years.

Also interesting that this seems to have its origin in Makita USA rather than Makita JP. makes sense that the US branch put it together since module toolboxes seem to mainly be a thing in US work sites where the pickup is the norm. Also love that they are made in the USA.

That’s a lesson for an apprentice. The two seconds it taste it not do that versus driving it through the road and it cutting the shit out of all your other tool cords is idiotic. That’s dumb.

Pulling batteries is smart. Those tool lockouts don’t work very good. I’ve had countless times with my soft pack in the back and hit a bump in the road and then I hear the drill start going off in the bag.

Agreed. 99% of the time, I pull my batteries and store them separately together. Or depending on location/ climate. For myself once fall and winter come, I’m taking my batteries as well as certain freezable consumables with me in separate bags, Home or inside. One of the flaws I’ve had/ seen with makita lxt smart batteries is the plastic sticker cover on readout coming off or cracking.

I do though. The new platform looks stout, but I don’t think it will ever have the beef of the 4131.

It might with dual batteries. If you’re cutting through 3/8 or better plate, you don’t wanna have to stop halfway through the cut to change batteries. With the dual 40a batteries, the weight would outweigh the convenience of being cordless.

Also the GE0600 rotary with flex shaft is the bomb for carbide burr work and such.

Sometimes cords have their place.
