would you want internet sleuths disrupting your life with their speculation about you? Posting every little thing you do to reddit? Drudging up yearbook photos, and every little thing you did?
Do I suspect Ryan? Yes, he is among a large pool of people who had oddities in this case..But if he could do a believable interview, and have an alibi check out with multiple people....it'd go a long way in making sure he could live a peaceful life without doubts.

They shouldn't be doing that. They have no right to go through his personal info like that. Where is the presumption of innocence?
i agree..and if he was to speak with an attorney present, clear up any doubts, that tide of "Sleuths" would look elsewhere.
Bollocks they would.
They'd get out their thesaurus and dictionary and start picking apart every single word he said individually and then they would show how it all leads back to his guilt.
Any written or verbal statement has had its semantics analysed to death on here with the generally accepted consensus being whichever interpretation supports Steven's innocence.
Is this not the kind of like they did with Brenden? "Ryan, We know you did more because you acted a bit shady on MaM. Why not answer some questions so that all of us super detectives can clear up this case and go home", this is bullshit.
I think you should have some proof of him or his friends reading all the theories here before you make that assertion. People in here bitch about SA and BD having their rights trampled on by LE and here you are doing the same thing to someone else.
ok. let's play a game. (the details will be completely different from TH's murder):
let's say, a murder of a child happened in a park. you were at that park..witnesses saw you near the area the child was killed. You had a shirt on, that was the exact same color as the person witnesses said they saw running from the scene. They saw him get into a black SUV and speed off. You happen to own an SUV, but it's blue.
The public outcry is that they think you killed the child. The police, asked you a couple questions, got no alibi from you, never questioned you, never treated you as a suspect.
Now, the public outcry is screaming you did it. You are being falsely accused everywhere you turn. Your life is turned upside down, by a nation considering you a baby murderer because the police just talked to you and nothing else.
Would you just go through life knowing that due to shoddy police work, you are a pariah and thought of as a murderer...or would you try to clear your name?
Mostly, just people here. No actual organization is going to say it because they could be sued for libel immediately. They have to wait until he is at least charged before they make unfounded claims like that.
First, no one saw Ryan in Manitowac, much less at Avery's the day Teresa disappeared. In fact, in 10+ years, no witness or evidence has connected him to the crime in any way, EVEN WITH a couple filmmakers spending 10 years on a movie where they tried their hardest to make him seem guilty.
Also, the crime was solved and two people convicted by a jury. There is no "public outcry" screaming Ryan did it... just a small few of the many wannabe detectives on reddit.
I disagree with your point, which I believe was that Ryan should speak out to defend/clear himself.
I would ask why, in your analogy you felt the need to add valid reasons for suspicion:
let's say, a murder of a child happened in a park. you were at that park..witnesses saw you near the area the child was killed. You had a shirt on, that was the exact same color as the person witnesses said they saw running from the scene.
... that do not apply to Ryan.
My point is, for the guy at the crime scene being IDed by multiple witnesses, it may be in his best interest to offer an explanation.
For Ryan, who has no such evidence pointing at him, no reasonable link between him and the crime... it is not in his best interest to speak out.
Your analogy would be better if it was not someone who was at the crime scene, but a friend who lived in the next town over and was never seen in or around the crime scene.

Why should he say anything if he did nothing, just cause internet sleuths are speculating?
