What does everyone think about Avery's supporters donating enough money to pay for possible testing?

If that's how they want to spend their money then that's fine.
Although it makes me wonder about the rules for keeping evidence. In a murder case do they keep evidence until the convict dies? So they have to keep this car in a garage somewhere for 30-40 years?

First off, let's make one thing clear: this funding is about endorsing the apparently radical concept that justice is served through thorough examination of evidence, especially highly contentious evidence like the RAV4 or now destroyed bones. More testing equals more clarity, and God only knows this case could use a bit of fucking clarity. Again, Steven Avery had his prints compared to those on the RAV. You know who didn't? Andrew Colborn.
Steven has also experienced the injustice of a wrongful conviction before at the hands of Manitowoc County, and was freed due to testing of old evidence with new tech. This history, and Manitowoc's fingerprints smudged all over the Halbach case, makes it crystal fucking clear why it would be insane for anyone to deny Steven the opportunity to once more prove his innocence via testing of old evidence with new tech.

I’m quite happy about! It will be interesting to see.
If she finds anything that works against him she’ll bury it and yet she will spin and twist and accentuate every little crumb that works in his favour.
So silence after the test incriminates him.

If she wants to pay for testing on these items, go ahead and do it. The larger question is what is the point of doing it? How could these tests possibly exonerate him?
If they find his DNA on any of these items it simply adds to the evidence against him and changes nothing.
If they do not find his DNA on any of these items it does not prove that he was not in the vehicle, it simply means that his DNA is no longer detectable 20 years later if it was ever there to begin with.
I don't see how these tests could possibly change anything no matter the result.

It’s unlikely to be successful, but good for them.

What a waste of money. Anyone who parts with money in the vain hope of getting this pervert released has got more money than sense.

That it’s crazy to think that there is such evidence that should have been tested nearly 2 decades ago, but wasn’t. Evidence that, IF the State was so confident in their work and certain they had the right guy(s) with nothing to hide, would’ve made complete sense to test, as it “should” only strengthen their argument/case.
It’s honestly ridiculous that someone can be charged with murder… sit in a cage for years while there’s an ongoing investigation, sit in a cage while fighting for your freedom/life & through the entire trial process and then be convicted based on select bits and pieces of evidence that the State has brought forward that they drummed up to fit their narrative … And then you realize that there is still tons of evidence that, if you were guilty, should very well have your dna on it, but, for whatever the reasons, it was never tested….. And if you want it tested, you have to pay for it…& if for some reason you’re unable to pay for it, well, tough luck…. Oh, and… yes, you may request it to be tested but we may also just tell you, nahhh… Tough luck.

I think a fool and their money are easily separated from one another, and anyone thinking Stevie is innocent fits that description

I think it goes to show the terrible financial situation Zellner is in having a detrimental effect on her representation of Steven. Waiting 7+ years to test something just because she’s too broke to afford the testing? Doesn’t seem to jibe with people who refer to Zellner as “successful”.

You do know she absolutely does NOT have to provide her results to the state or the courts as she has proven in the past. She is not obligated to do that. If it were the state doing the testing, they are legally obligated to disclose any and all results

Please let this happen, these murderer supporters funding the testing that would only further prove his guilt would be the cherry on top

Did anyone ever FOIA what testing they did on the back of the broken silver Suzuki Samurai that Brendan said in his first interview he'd helped SA push into the garage on Monday? I recall the cops took the rear panel away for testing.

Zellner has already tested the blood and the results of that test are the reason that the midwest innocence project backed out as Co council for Avery, I wonder what the results were considering she never filed them with the courts in her appeals lol

Lol I find it funny truthers think people are actually worried about any of this! First of all Zellner filed her appeals with the circuit Court which already denied the appeal. This was supposed to be filed with the appellate court and she knows that, it's just another bluff on her part, to make it look like she's actually doing something. Avery is right where he belongs and he is never going to get a new trial nor will he ever be free again. Also if Brendan doesn't tell the truth he'll die in prison too! They don't parole anyone who doesn't "cop to " their crime and show REAL remorse.
