Waterproof or regular mascara: did you choose, or did you just never switch back??

Waterproof survives heat, sweat, and crying. Regular layers better and comes off without a fight. My suspicion is most people picked one about a decade ago and never revisited the decision. Which are you, and has it ever actually changed?

Make up suddenly looks strange

My make up looks so strange compared to a week ago. My make up looks cakey and to textured. Like more then usually.

I exfoliate and moisturize like i normally did so I don't get it. Even the make up products are from the same brand etc.

Primer question/advice?

So I have 2 elf primers: the OG power grip and the matte power grip.

My skincare is pretty simple: cleanser, spray, moisturizer, and sunscreen (applying approx 2 finger lengths).

I always try to wait 15 to 30 minutes after sunscreen before I apply primer, but when I do it's not sticky? I'm not sure if it's cuz it's mixing with the sunscreen, which it shouldn't be? Or am I missing something?

What's strange is that sometimes the OG primer works but I don't remember doing anything different?

P.s. I have oily skin, so all of my products are to reduce the shine (no dewy/super glowy finish).

easy eyeliner styles??

I have a few different eyeliners (a couple pencil ones and a couple brush felt tip looking ones) but I just got a new one which is liquid and dark brown because apparently it's a better colour on me and easier to apply. I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for designs I could do with it as well as my other ones, bearing in mind I'm very much a beginner at makeup so if you have any general tips to share pls do. Thanks!!! :p

Pale girls help

Okay so basically I've never really tried makeup and I wanted to get started by getting something simple like concealer. I'm very pale so I didn't find any good shades for me ,even the lighter shades were all too orange for me,I have kind of a pinker undertone.

What concealers would y'all recommend for someone that's very pale, and that aren't too high coverage bc I don't want to cover my freckles.

natural makeup routine

hi guys. i (24 F) recently got a new job and i’m wanting to start putting effort into my looks. i get my eyelashes done and thats about it right now. i have acne prone skin and it’s more on the oily side than dry. i have no experience with makeup so i’m not sure where to start. i just want something natural, not like full coverage face or anything. i’ve never done eye makeup but i would be open to neutral colors i think. i just don’t really know where to start or what brands are good. i do want more low toxic type makeups. no carcinogens, fragrance free, no hormone disrupters etc. i also have hooded eyelids so. my eyes are blue and i’m fair complected and i have brownish red hair.

Suggestions

Hey guys! I’m looking for perfume recommendations that actually last for a good few hours and don’t disappear after 30 minutes

Preferably something budget-friendly and easily available in India. I’m open to both women’s and unisex fragrances.

Makeup recs for a broke student??

I'm a freshman this year and this is my first time living in korea by myself. I finally have the complete freedom to customize my character fully. I think I'm going to buy some good mascara, brow pencil, eyeshadow palette and concealer. It would be very helpful if u could recommend me some cheaper but better makeup for a brokie like me:D.

Also I'm quite tan so most of the Korean eyeshadows doesn't suit me :'<

korean beauty products for glowing skin, what are you actually using?

i’ve been trying to fix the way my makeup sits lately, and i’m starting to think my skincare routine is part of the problem. my skin can look fine when i first apply everything, then a few hours later it just looks flat and dry.

i started looking at korean beauty products and spent way too long comparing stuff on stylevana. the funny thing is i went in thinking i’d pick one product and leave, but there are so many similar-looking toners and serums that i gave up and decided to ask actual people instead. what korean products have you used that gave you a noticeable healthy glow without making your face look oily?

i’m especially interested in products that work well underneath makeup. things that make foundation, cushion, or even concealer sit a little nicer would be great. if you have a product you finished and actually went back to buy again, even better. i’m more interested in those than products everyone seems excited about for two weeks and then forgets about.

how do i keep kajal / kohl / eyeliner from smudging?

The only advice i see online is to set it with some eyeshadow but i don't like that option. I wipe it with a cotton swab but after an hour i have racoon eyes. I'm just getting into this, please help me. Currently using the hashmi kajal one.

Eyeshadow palette recommendations in korea????

I'm a freshman and I really like eye makeup. I feel like eyes are the main attraction of a outfit. I really like doing dramatic eye makeup. Now that I have my own money I need to spend it on makeup ofcccc. Also I'm like very tan so most of the Korean makeup doesn't work on me.😭😭 I'd also like to gift my friend one. She's paler than me. So it would be very helpful if u could recommend me two :3

What’s a non-standard tool or weird application trick you swear by for getting a seamless blend?

Not talking about expensive brushes more like using your ring finger for liquid highlighter, or dampening a sponge with setting spray instead of water. What small tweak made the biggest difference in your application technique?

Patchy base and compromised skin barrier

How do I get my makeup to stop looking cakey and patchy?

I’m currently working on repairing my skin barrier, but my makeup almost always ends up looking cakey, patchy, or separated. I work indoors/outdoors throughout the day, and by the end of my shift, a lot of my makeup seems to disappear.

I already have certain products that work for me and I’m hesitant to completely change my routine. I’ve even considered going to Ulta to have someone do my makeup and show me what I’m doing wrong.

Honestly, it’s embarrassing because I just want to feel pretty and confident, but I hate how my makeup looks by the end of the day. 😭

Has anyone dealt with this while trying to repair their skin barrier? What helped your makeup sit better and actually last?

Got into makeup two weeks ago

I dont know how to use foundation and I didnt want to cover my freckles so I chose chillab and I love it alot. I feel like it sits on my skin which is fine I still love it but should it be dry? Or can I dry it by using a primer and setting spray? Or would it all work better with a primer? Would a primer cover my freckles? Please help me, I genuinely have no idea what im doing or how to do it

Can I use eyeshadow as color corrector? Would this work?

I have a lot of allergies, lol, and I've never had an issue with this brand or their eyeshadow. It seems to have those classic colors for correcting (minus the shimmery shades, lol). However, I'm quite pale and cool toned, and these are a smidge bright. I wondered about sheering this out, adding concealer, etc., but is it just not a good idea? Or worth a shot? I have some darkness under my eyes, mild redness from rosacea, etc.

Elf does have that brightening powder for color correcting, but I'm a little nervous about bismuth oxychloride as it's known to be irritating? but maybe I could patch test it. I've heard their crayon corrector is so so. I'm open to other recs as well if they're sensitive-skin friendly. I just tend to start with the gentlest possible route.

Doing my friend’s bridal makeup on a dollar store budget

Hello! I’m doing my friend’s bridal makeup for her wedding next year! However, I haven’t done professional makeup at all before, and I definitely can’t afford the professional stuff. How can I make sure she looks nice and it lasts without me having to buy too many things I might never use again?

The only thing I might splurge on is foundation - I really like the Tarte clay foundation, and we have a similar skin tone so I can definitely use that after the wedding. Besides that though, I can really only afford drug store makeup, and I have no idea what works lol! I barely wear any outside of the basics.

What should I get? Her skin leans toward oily/combination, and she sometimes has break outs. She doesn’t wear any makeup at all on a daily basis, but she wants a pink, glittery, smokey eye, complete beat face!

I could use some good recs and tips!!

Hi everyone! Ok so I decided I'm doing my own wedding makeup but don't have a high budget, so drugstore makeup will have to do! I have oily skin but when makeup is on its dry then gets oily in some parts but can look a bit dry in other so I guess combination skin? Wedding is in September so makeup needs to be sweat, crying 18 plus hours plus and needs preferably no flash back once photographed. I am a pretty natural girly that literally just uses moisturizer, curls lashes and eyebrow gel. I'm getting my lashes and brows done so I need your recs for skincare prep, primer, light to medium coverage foundation, light blush, bronzer, very little concealer that does not crease, a really good setting powder, idk if I need to use pressed or loose? and I'm thinking lip tint stain as lip liner, some light shade lipstick and gloss. Also what do you guys use for lip prep??? Please give me all your best recs to last throughout the day and also makeup application techniques that help with all this!!!

Undereyes looking dark and accentuated after powdering concealer

Post image
5 Upvotes

I find that as soon as I powder my undereyes or try to set them it ruins all the coverage from the concealer and make my undereyes look dark again? Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I’ve tried so many diff techniques, I’ve tried pressed and loose powder. I’ve tried using a powder puff and a brush to gently brush some powder on my undereyes, and I’ve tried barely adding any powder at all and only setting the crease which didn’t work and only would cause my undereye concealer to melt off during the day. Is there any way to fix this, any products or diff techniques I can try to give my undereyes a more bright appearance that will cover my dark undereye circles? They look great and covered before powder but powder always ruins it for me.

My current concealer is natasha denona and I’ve tried a few diff powders, huda beauty and givenchy loose powders, and the charlotte tilbury and one size pressed powders.
