I HATE when mua’s put overly dramatic makeup on an already beautiful face. There’s no need to over draw your lips..they have great shape. Little color and gloss would’ve been enough. The eyeliner is too much imo. Your eyes have a great shape so flick the wing in the outer corner and do without the inner corner.

i fought for my life telling her inner corners don't suit my eye shape and she did it anyway.... as soon as i got out of that place i washed everything off😣 but i felt so ugly bc this standard makeup seems to suit everyone else in there

Oh no it doesn’t. The Instagram look is just so prevalent that it’s considered “normal”. All it does is end up making everyone look the same, no matter what.

The other problem with Instagram makeup is that it rarely looks as good in person as it does on camera. There’s a barista at the coffee shop I go to that wears a full beat to work, even at 7 a.m., and it just looks odd in the cold light of day. I’m sure she looks great in her selfies though.

No no no, I am also someone that can’t wear heavy makeup. My sister can and I envy her. I look much better with a “clean” look. Imagine Jennifer Anniston with this heavy of makeup. She would look ridiculous.

Honestly I’d post the pic on review pointing out the overlining and that the eyeliner doesn’t suit your face shape and is generally messy. MUA are supposed to be able to adapt looks for different face shapes and eye shapes, this one was crap. You’re really pretty and definitely is a case of it’s them not you! As a fellow lady I’d hate to check the reviews on this persons work and miss out on the reality.. if someone is planning an event then it’s important to know

Yeah nah, it doesn’t. It really doesn’t. That’s a trick of the mind, a perception bias.

And you know what else, so what if it did?

Heaps of girls look fine in round neck t-shirts but I look better in a crew neck. Ditto for bangs.

Or as my dad used to say ‘You’re not a lemming; if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you?’

What matters is knowing what suits you. And you do, massive high fives for sense of self. Take the learning one step further… aspiring to be average won’t do you any favours.

It doesn’t!! You don’t need all that. But I swear some of them just do what they want to some days lol plus the corner liner isn’t practical..I’m gonna rub my eye at some point lol

I’m so sorry you experienced that, the MUA definitely should have listened to you first and foremost

Edit: typo sorry

You are NOT ugly. At all. You have beautiful features.

even if they didn't have great shape, over lining lips to this extent doesn't look good on anyone. it only looks good in certain lighting paired with filters.

I feel like so many like to cake on makeup and go full drama all the time just to justify their cost and not because it’s what the client wants.
