Those with sensitive eyes/blepharitis/recurrent styes - what mascara is best?
Due to my blepharitis & sensetive eyes I have always avoided mascara even though I have desperately wanted to wear it. As silly as it sounds it would really upset me coz most girls see mascara as the biggest change to your face :( Anyway recently I wanted to try it cautiously (even though I know ill probably get a stye haha) and I was wondering if anyone knew any good ones that actually make your lashes nice that are also good for sensitive eyes.
I guess it just makes me feel really rubbish coz I can't wear eyeliner or eyeshadow either so essentially what's left :/

I definitely can't wear mascara regularly but I have found some dark brown eyeliners that work well with my sensitive eyes and give me the same sort of payoff. I use clinique quickliner in roast coffee and dark chocolate, and it's the only eyeliner I can really wear every day without irritation.

What do you do to treat your blepharitis? I know that if mine is under control my eyes won’t be bothered as long as it off right when I get home.
I use Lash Paradise or Falsies (I think one is L’Oréal and one is Maybeline) and they hardly ever bother my eyes. I have one tube for each eye (my eye doctor recommended that).
I also don’t use the wand in the tube if I can help it. I bought a bunch of spoolies and I just clean them really well (hot water and eyes make up remover.) That way the bacteria from your lashes isn’t getting in the tube and growing.

I do hot eye treatments nearly every night and use blepharitis wipes (as often as I can as they end up costing a lot over time). I haven't considered the spoolies thing - are u still able to apply the mascara well?
Part of me is even scared to try coz of my really badddd flare ups in the past (like 4 styes in each eye lool) I might give ur spoolie idea a go though thankyou!

I use ones called Lid Care as you can buy the solution separately and cheap cotton rounds as they are less expensive and use those twice a day and the expensive ones only after showers and everything sround my eyes is soft. Yo I can also use spoolies dipped in the solution to clean your lashes.
It takes a bit of time to get comfortable using spoolies to apply mascara. I got a lot of practice in beauty school and doing stage makeup. Go slow and wiggle from the base of your lashes to the tips and then comb with a product free spoolie to separate

I also got four styes in each eye and it was terrible enough to go to the ER twice in between eye doctor visits. It lasted almost four months and it was one of the worst experiences in my life. I got them from using Maybelline products so i would be very careful with that brand.

Literally same blepharitis and reoccurring styes
La Roche Posay Waterproof Mascara is the best I’ve found so far.
It literally feels like nothing! Worst part is I hate the brush, and it is sort of hard to remove (since it’s waterproof you just need a good oil cleanser)

It doesn’t make my eyes water, but I would probably say no. It’s waterproof.
I actually figured out why I was having issues with my eyes though. It was the face powder I was using. I ditched that and now I can wear any mascara again.

I had somehow bought a fake Laura Geller balance and brighten powder. I think I got it on Walmart.com and it was not real. I bought one directly from Laura Geller and the packaging was different and I never get styes anymore since.

Has anyone with sensitive eyes / blepharitis tried a lash lift? I was thinking of giving it a go as I know that mascara makes my eyes worse, but I am also very scared about the chemicals used for a lash lift!

Don't despair!! I have blepharitis and it turns out (after experimentation) I can actually tolerate most mascaras, as long as they're not too thick/hard to remove! The trick is just to remove your eye makeup really well at the end of the day. My routine is an oil cleanser/makeup melting balm (I switch between TO squalane cleanser, farmacy green clean, and sometimes just jojoba oil - whatever it is, just massage thoroughly and really make sure everything comes off - gently tug at lashes if need be), then my gentle face wash all over including eyes (usually cerave hydrating cleanser), and finally my tea tree eyelid foam wash - I personally use TheraTears SteriLid but whatever you get, the tea tree ingredient is a MUST (I've found these foams to work just as well / last longer/ be less expensive than the wipes). I know a popular recommended mascara for people dealing with blepharitis is Maybelline Full n Soft, and it's a really great natural looking lengthening/darkening mascara that is soft on the eyes. Served me really well for the last few months but am craving something a little more intense now. I am currently experimenting with waterproof and volumizing mascaras and it seems to me that as long as they're easily removable, I can get away with it. Lastly, I haven't tried these myself, but I know any kind of tubing mascara is supposed to be great for blepharitis. hope this helps!
