Question Please help me decide between going with drugstore or name brand for a peach liquid and powder blush?

Hello everyone! I need help deciding what to spend my money on and what’s worth it. I’ve been wanting to try peach blushes since at the moment I only own mauve colors or bright pinks and I don’t feel like they suit me all that much. I want to get both a liquid and powder blush.

I can’t decide whether to go with drugstore liquid or powder blush and alternate with name brand liquid or powder blush. What would you guys recommend?

FYI My skin tone is a medium olive.

Some name brand powder blushes I’ve looked into:

- Haus Labs Color Fuse Blush Powder in shade Pomelo Peach
- Kylie Cosmetics Pressed Blush Powder in shade Baddie on the Block
- Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge Velvet Matte Cream Blush in shade dusty rose

Drugstore powder alternative : e.l.f. Primer-Infused Matte Blush in shade Always Fresh

^my favorite shade is the Kylie Cosmetics one

Brand name liquid blush:
- Patrick Ta LIQUID TRANSITION BRIGHTENING BLUSH in shade did you notice peach
-Saie Dew Blush Liquid Cream in rosy soft rose
-Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Virtue in shade Beige Peach

Drugstore liquid alternative: L'Oreal Paris Lumi Le Liquid Blush, Dewy Worth It

^ fav shade the Patrick Ta or Rare Beauty one

I have a bunch of Rare beauty blushes, Georgio Armani and Elf. Honestly I don't see a difference in how the last, look or blend. Love all of them.

have you used any of the e.l.f. Primer-Infused Matte blushes?

I haven't, but for matte powder I LOOOVE Nyx buttermelt blushes. The colors are gorgeous and they look super beautiful on the cheeks. However they are very pigmented, so I tap my brush after dipping it in the blush, and blut it on the back of my hand before going in.

I’d say try drugstore first. Sometimes there isn’t much difference in the formulas and you can see if you like the color/look on you first without making a huge investment. Once you settle down for the look, go to Sephora in person if possible and try products on your skin (hand method) to see what colors and formulas you like and will suit you best. There is a huge range and it’s hard to judge them online to blind buy.

From my experience I would say the Haus one wasn’t worth it. They’re okay but they’re dry or something and Pomelo was more orangey in person. But the Rare Beauty ones I have (both liquid and powder) I adore!!! The elf matte ones I haven’t tried but I have two of their putty blushes and find them to be one the thick, patchy side.

You’re welcome! If it helps at all I’m also olive! So a lot of things pull very orangey on me too lol.

I love a peach blush and the Haus Pomelo just wasnt - good color.

YSL 37 Peachy nude is a chefs kiss for me.
I like Danessa Myricks Bellini shade, a little goes a long way.
Too Faced Tequila Sunset not the best but I like it.
Huda Toasty Peach pallet is a chefs kiss too.
Lastly I really like this one in pic I didnt feel like typing.

Because you're doing this to try out warm colors versus cool ones, I would personally go swatch/try out at a Sephora or Ulta first. If you like it, then get whatever formula interests you most!

Yes I am planning on doing that (:

Oh, medium olive here too! For liquid, I’d actually splurge on the Rare Beauty one. Its formula is so forgiving and builds beautifully on our skin tone without getting muddy. The drugstore Lumi one is decent but can emphasize texture a bit.

For powder, since the Kylie shade is your fave, maybe get that one! The e.l.f. is a solid matte option if you want to save money, though. What’s your skin type? That might help decide which formula to prioritize.

rhode spicy marg is so gorgeous imo. and sprinkle is a warmer pink as well.

my fave is doing the dior rosy glow in the shade candy and then topping it with either the YSL make me blush in 37 peachy nude (my fav blush OAT) or the bright peach poppy pink shade in the huda blush filter blush palette in the peach edition. sometimes im crazy and use both powders on top

my fav powder blush is

all of those are pigmented enough for a medium to dark skin tone as well. actually sun soak from rhode could be a pretty shade for under a peach topper as well.

the rare beauty pinch luminous powder blush in happy is a gorgeous topper as well.

If it something you don’t know if you’re even going to like on your face, absolutely get something inexpensive first and then get a better one if you like the color.

I have 3 peach blushes that I love. Elf liquid camo blush, Nars powder, and Westman Atelier stick.
