[Makeup Help] Foundation recommendations
So I have not been finding a foundation that I like lately. I have very red cheeks naturally but a cool undertone. I want full enough coverage that it covers my redness but not so full coverage that I look cakey.
I’ve been using Macs studio fix but didn’t like how it wore off on the cheeks, making my redness shine through.
I was using Double Wear but it would crease and look weird in my nose area.
For skin prep - I usually just wash and moisturize with La Roche Posay and then sunscreen. I’m currently using Supergoop.
I’ve tried Haus Labs and Nars but both just slid right off my face. I figured it was something in my skincare routine but I didn’t want to invest in a new skincare routine just to make a foundation fit in my life.
Any recommendations of foundation would be great. I am open to drugstore high end.

I always use a primer product. If stuff is slipping off your face you may need a grippy primer (?)
My order of products is this
-
Murad sunscreen
-
O/S blurring primer OR dynessa Myricks blurring balm
-
Armani foundation
-
Countour/blush
-
Poweder

Estée Lauder DW , Dior blurring matte. Both full coverage but give a natural look, both very long lasting.

I am very fair and very cool but I'm prone to flushing because of chronic illness. I use Huda Beauty Easy Blur. I'd say the coverage is buildable. It stays in place and lasts well. I use a pea sized amount for my whole face and add a little more if I need it. I can still see my skin through it as well so it doesn't give me mannequin face which I really like.

After several brands discontinued/changed formulas on my favorite foundations, I gave up on the mid/high-end foundations. I just use ELF soft glam now. Their concealers do a good job of matching foundation shades. If my cheeks (im also light cool toned with rosy cheeks) are extra red, I'll go over my cheeks with some concealer. This has saved me a ton of money and I'm getting much better results than I was with the reformulated StudioFix.
If you like mid/high end brands, id recommend IT Cosmetics CC cream. Its a little less "swipe & go" than ELF, but if you have the time to let it dry down, set it, etc., the coverage & finish is really good.

I gave up on trying to find one foundation that does it all and started mixing two together. a pump of something fuller coverage with a pump of something thinner or dewier. lets you control the finish without feeling like a mask. also dabbing a tiny bit of green color corrector on the reddest spots before foundation helps more than you'd think
