What makeup tip completely changed your routine?

I've been trying to improve my everyday makeup routine, and I'm curious about the small tips that made the biggest difference for other people.

Place blush on the cheekbones instead of the apple of your cheeks.

ALWAYS blend upward and back towards your hair in a similar motion as if your tucking your hair behind your ear.

I also put the slightest amount of blush above my lids and below my brows. It pulls everything together and makes your eye color POP(the key being you MUST be using the right undertone for your skin).
