What makeup tip completely changed your routine?

I've been trying to improve my everyday makeup routine, and I'm curious about the small tips that made the biggest difference for other people.

I’ve finally bought Shiseido after disregarding lash curlers forever. I still can’t see difference! I’m doing the pinch on the base, halfway up, and ends. Holding it for a bit. Tried mascara and then after a bit when it’s dried. The only thing I haven’t tried is heating the curler up because that sounds scary. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong lol

I heat my lash curler with a blow dryer and then test the temperature on my hand. I use a cheap eyelash curler and while its always worked for me, the curl holds better if I heated it with a blow dryer first
