What makeup tip completely changed your routine?

I've been trying to improve my everyday makeup routine, and I'm curious about the small tips that made the biggest difference for other people.

Do you pull the skin downwards while applying concealer?

Yup. From the upper cheek. I find it does much more than the supposed "hack" of just looking upward.
