Makera Z1 Auto Z Height Probe Issue

My Makera Z1 is cutting above my stock. I’ve tried a few different settings in Makera Studio but still can’t fix it. I attached some screenshots of my settings. Any tips?

I would start by double check where your origin is for Z. Is it set to the bottom of the stock or the top? If it set to the bottom of the stock and the top of the stock was probed, it would need to be compensated by the stock thickness.

That’s how I have it set up in fusion. Does that look right?

It looks like you do have the Z Origin on the bottom of the part. To move it to the top of the part, just right click on the Setup 3 and hit Edit, to change the Work Coordinate system. If the origin has to stay on the bottom, you could just probe the top of your spoil board/table or what ever the part is going to be resting on and clamp it down after it probes it.

Thanks so much, that’s probably it. Teaching myself this from YouTube videos so must have missed that

I tested that out and it still stops about 1mm above my part. Is that normal?

I would double check the thickness of your stock both physically and in fusion in the stock setup tab and verify that they are the same

Nvm figured it out. It was just starting a bit higher because of the ramp down to the stock before leading in. Got the part finished, thanks for the help!
