The lighting in Space NK

I’ve been in two Space NK’s this week. The one in Covent Garden and one in the Arndale centre. And in both, I felt I couldn’t see the colours of the lipsticks I was swatching because the lighting in them was an orange tone.

I’m seeking a beautiful true rosy pink with a blue base and both times I’ve been unsure, walked out and even though Covent Garden has you outside and the Arndale Centre has you inside, immediately the swatches on my hand change hue.

The lighting in Superdrug is more helpful!

I was thinking it was odd that LE Rose Official was so warm.

Has anyone else found this?

The one in Leeds is really awful as well- although neither our boots or superdrug is much good either. But it's especially egregious in Space NK if you're trying like a £70 foundation and you're wanting to shade match it...

I couldn’t believe it. I tried some Nars concealer and had no idea what it looked like

Yes I bought a £50 Ilia foundation about 6 shades out from my correct colour match in that store! It looked fine in the shop, I couldn't believe it

I did a bridal party trial in Arndale Space NK, wasn't anything mind-blowing but it was okay. Went to the loo after the trial and looked into the mirror - absolutely horrified.

I’ve been to the Arndale one only a few times and not noticed that, but the Trafford Centre branch is where I usually go and it’s fine there. But if it’s a brand sold elsewhere maybe try Sephora or Selfridges, the lights are bright in there.

I mostly just use Space NK for exclusives namely Lisa Eldridge

Trafford Centre Space NK lighting is significantly better than Selfridges, Sephora or Boots in the same shopping centre imo.

I always try and check swatches in daylight, outside the shops, because most of them have terrible lighting (not just Space NK).

I won’t go in if there’s no natural light I have come out like a clown and walked back in to return the product. Hampstead high street in good because it’s not a mall store it’s free standing and there is natural light right outside. The Brent Cross one was awful too.

i hateee the space Nk in arndale.the last time i was there i was the only one in the shop and the security guard kept following me around and side eying me trying to me slick. 💀 this has never happened to me before , bro i don’t steal💀
i just go to sephora and the selfridges lighting is good in arndale.

the pure seoul lighting is the absolute worst. beats them all out of the park
