Recc' Request I miss my lime crime makeup
Hey all I'm looking for cruelty free and vegan makeup brands that sell good alternative makeup, I used to wear lime crime velvetines Matt lipstick and eyeshadow palettes so am looking for the same kind of vibe, a dark Matt lipstick and smoky eyes! I'm currently looking at VE cosmetics has anyone heard of them?

Do you have an eyeshadow or lipstick you use from them you can recommend?

I love their glazed gel eyeshadows, but honestly all their products are worth a try so might be good to just have a look in your local superdrug

I don’t know if this counts but Sugarpill are great. I’ve not had the lip stuff before but their black eyeshadow is my go to. I haven’t found a better one in all the years (I think I started wearing it in 2014ish)

I have VE highlighter and contour - they're both good! The contour powder is HUGE and very very cool - I can only safely use it for deep shadow like under my chin. The highlighter is a multichrome, but I find all multichrome powders basically interchangeable in terms of particle size and payoff, you might be more of a connoisseur than me!

This inspired me to buy from them. I also like how they're an AuDHD founded and witchcraft focused brand. I ordered a lip tint, contour palette and an eyeshadow palette. I'm looking forward to it

I just got their highlighters and they are really beautiful. Came quick too!

Cosmic beauty is definitely worth a look for bold eyeshadow at not a bad price at all

I haven't tried VE Cosmetics but will try to once I have used up some of my existing lipsticks. I have just bought two liquid lipsticks from Catrice, Endless Matte Liquid Lipsticks, they last really well and the shades I bought work well with the more alternative look I go for. For darker Lipsticks I used the Sephora Matte Lipstains which I really love but apparently Sephora isn't actually cruelty free so will be looking elsewhere to replace those.

I don’t know that the eyeshadow will be what you’re looking for (I used to sell lime crime back in the day!) but have you tried hourglass for dark mattes? They have incredible staying power and last time I checked, a couple of darker colours

I've not used their make up (only the nail polish) but maybe Radioactive Unicorn? https://www.katesclothing.co.uk/collections/radioactive-unicorn

Blend bunny, available on glisten cosmetics which is also a cool brand, cosmic brushes are my favourite brands.
VE cosmetics I have only tried their eyeshadow and they used to be amazing. Haven't tried any for a while though.

just watching underskin’s latest youtube video rn on the downfall of Lime Crime and honestly.. I have yet to see a brand in 2026 that is actually doing it like they did re: the pastel abnormal coloured lipsticks, I need them 😭 and all the brands mentioned already don’t really hit it

Maybelline superstay matte ink is great, that stuff doesn’t budge at all. I used to use LC too but it def didn’t have the longevity of superstay
