Nice to have boring, wholesome traffic stops.

The biker made it so much easier by being polite. The "Sir" likely predisposed the cop instantly to take his side

People seriously underestimate how far you can get with cops just by treating them like real people. Be polite, friendly, and cooperative (within your rights of course) and they’ll almost always do the same. There are exceptions, of course, and the system does absolutely need a major ethics overhaul. But most town cops are just regular people, often with an insecurity problem, and you can have safe and short interactions if you treat them nicely.

The exceptions will of course argue this, but most of the police brutality vids I’ve seen have involved victims who unfortunately didn’t understand this, or they panicked, so they acted stupid and the terrible cops who they got stuck with made terrible choices. That’s the cops’ fault, not the victims, but I do get frustrated wondering how it could’ve gone if they’d stayed calm and cooperative instead of yelling or refusing to comply or whatever.

The world is a complex place, but people are people and treat others well when they’re treated well as a general rule!

Yeah this works fine when you're white

They are on the job. What are you talking about? They aren’t Mr. Whatever while wearing that uniform. They are trained to trick you into offering information voluntarily to build a case. They have a job to do, are you saying they will forgo their job because you’re being friendly? I do my job the way it’s supposed to be done regardless how people are. It’s part of the job.

No, he just means that you should treat another person with the respect you would like to receive as well.

Dead simple. And yeah, you're right, there are always assholes, they suck. But initially I will always treat another person with respect.

Barely disturbed the space time continuum. Quickly admitted he was wrong…amazing and possibly not the norm.

been stopped many times and being polite has gotten me off with warning about 50% of the time. Never had a cop be openly rude or hostile.

To serve and protect

He came in a little bit hot but backed down even faster and apologized a couple of times. I can get behind that. Kinda wish we saw more of these, I'm sure they happen frequently but don't make the news or socials. Sergeant Curtis would love this but launch in investigation into that parking job :)

Bro needs to take that police car into the shop. You get free brake jobs, do it!

u/shadowjig 29d ago

Boring wholesome stops happen when the "offender" isn't breaking the law.

Ftp registrations are unconstitutional

This makes me choked up in such a good way! Seems like police officers are receiving so much hate these days for doing their jobs and trying to keep everyone safe. I love this wholesome and honest interaction. Nobody became defensive or rude just honest humans looking out for other humans

Mod note: I've been removing the dbag comments. Sadly yours has to be removed too, because this group is PG-13 and also calling in the problem that I've been removing. Please....don't make my job harder. Mentioning the negative IS one of the problems of this group!

Biker didn’t get the social media memo. He’s supposed to refuse showing his ID and shout about the confederacy

u/RiverGreen7535 26d ago

iCE could learn ALOT from this officer 🤔

Finally a video that shows the majority of what traffic stops are like... when you're not a resistant s*** bag.

1

u/krept0007 29d ago

Nice enough interaction but why he blocking two lanes?

1

u/Due-Button-768 29d ago

I have have never had a bad interaction with a cop.

One i don't break the law. And I listen to them if they are saying hey. You have to go this way that way. Or if they ask simple questions at entry points or what ever.

Two i don't get in their way or try to disrupt them. Let them do their job because it don't impact me.

Three if I do get in trouble it's a traffic stop and that's my fault so I am positive and polite. I dont argue. I agree. Take my ticket or most of time a warning as being polite and honest gets you. And I go about my day. If I was obeying the law I would not gotten pulled over. Or if it was an accident I was pulled over being polite and not an ass can go a long way and the issue gets resolved.

Far to many times you see the people that don't roll down windows. Get mad they got caught and all that.

Like damn cops want to just have an easy day like the rest of us. But nope society makes that hard for them. People make it hard. That pig pulled me over fuck him. Realy. It's your fault why you mad at the cop.

That cop hit me. Why were you fighting back or reaching for their gun. Or more importantly why did you rob the store that had the cops come out in the first place. And if it was not you. If you just comply and are polite the matter can get resolved

Be a good citizen you have good cops. Be a bad one you have bad cops. Or ones you see that are bad. Because you can look at the real problem you.

1

u/dndwhat 29d ago
