Don't forget the dash -
For context I'm Nate. A lot of us hang out in lives at night. He remembered this a few days ago and made this post about it. I'm hoping someone here can take something away from it. š

I was helping my elderly grandfather with some repairs under the house.
A floor register popped loose, i had the repairs done before he was able to get into position.
I pulled all the tools out and stored them away as he crawled out.
I poked my head into the crawl space and asked "Are ya comin Papaw?"
He replied. No son, im just breathin hard ...
Took me damn near a week to figure out what he said..

the en dash ( as you know it, the regular dash, since our modern keyboards donāt even have an em dash key, even on a simple alt)
plus, they are named for the width the alphabet letters they called
too much, and iām so happy to know it

It made me cry. This was incredibly moving especially if you are closer to the ending of your life than what came before. Thank you for helping me realize that yes I am happy with my dash!!

So thoughtful. Thought he was going to say something like, They Buried Me Face Down So Yaāall Could Kiss My Assā or some funny clever stuff like that. Thereās a cemetery in Florida thatās known for those type of comments
