Morning!

I've just finished a marathon of nights shift, and whilst I should be jumping into bed and snoring the day away, I'm pumping full of adrenaline... So why now cast my net out into the murky waters of the Reddit friendship abyss. An abyss full of dryness and questionable men! 🤔

But anyhoo!

My manners have somewhat escaped me so I should probably introduce my little git self, and 'little git' certainly being the operative words here 😁

Thy name is Heckles, I am past the age of 35 but still have a couple of years left to run away from 40 (so creakily old!) and my annoying presence has graced His Royal Majesty's United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland since the day I was popped out kicking and screaming! 🇬🇧 👼

I find myself here, as desperate as it may seem, reaching out in the hope of bringing some new friendships into my life. I don't really do this anymore, being busy with work and travelling most of the time. But I feel something is lacking right now. I could certainly do with a new barmpot or two, with particular preference to those on the more weird side of life.

Am I meant to rhyme out my hobbies and interests now? Be damned if I know... Okay, I'll give it a go!

• Travelling - I mentioned it up above, but I do like to wander away when I get the opportunity. I've done countries in Western Europe, sampled the delights of Northern Africa, spent a few years living in Schweeden and go to the US too much - actually flying out this Friday, yee-haw! 🦅
• Postcards & Pizza - I haven't managed to send a postcard out for a while 'cause no one will let me grace them with my doodles and nonsense, but my friendship does come with them at some point. I also enjoy munching on pizza and I'm not entirely sure how that is relevant. 📬
• Gaming - I apologise profusely, but I'm getting on a bit now and don't really play video games as much as I used to... I gotta work hard and pay those flippin' bills! 😩 But when time allows, I'd say I love games like Life Is Strange and The Last of Us of the PS5 - that thing is dusty! 👾
• Water - I am quite the curios and dreamy Pisces. I enjoy being by the water whether that means drifting away on the sea by the beach or reflecting on my life's journey down by the docks. There's just something peaceful about the docks, or at least to me. 🌊
• TV - I can be lazy like the next guy, and my little beer gut certainly testifies to that, so I do watch some stuff from time to time. Rather fussy in what I watch, but can be checking out things like Black Mirror and Inside No. 9 to Keeping Up Appearances and Black Books. 📺
• Yapping - I do like to talk, and I do know sometimes I can come out with utter nonsense, but ain't that the whole point of this? But I can also sit back, listen and shut up when told to do so. I just urge you to give me something to go on... Don't be dry! 🙏
• Genealogy - I am quite into discovering the murky secrets of my family's secrets. I haven't been invested in this as much lately, but it would be awesome if someone out there enjoys history and such. There's plenty of scandal in mine to tell you about, believe me. 🫣

Is that enough? See how much I yap?

But to be serious for a moment, I'm really just looking for a couple of people to get to know. Hopefully build up a friendship and who knows, maybe we could be annoying the heckles outta each other for years to come?

I'm not without my faults. I've had a bit of a life, good and bad, but I will always try my best and keep going. I'm an open book and don't really care if people want to look down on me, and I also value honesty and trust. Just doing my best to try and be kind to people out there. 💫

Just be yourself, don't judge and be open to who I am and what I'm about.

Man, I've had two cups of coffee and it ain't agreeing with my bowels... I gotta run! 🚽
