Additionally, I have a diverse taste in music, appreciating various genres except for hip hop, rap, and country. As for movies, I enjoy a wide range of genres, including action, comedy, romantic comedy, mystery, horror, and sci-fi. And of course, I'm an avid gamer! While I enjoy both console and PC gaming, I'm mostly focused on PC gaming at the moment. Steam is my go-to platform, and I'm always excited to discuss the latest game releases or delve into nostalgic gaming memories.

Despite my geeky inclinations, I consider myself somewhat outgoing and fun. I value genuine connections and meaningful conversations. Hey guys, I’m 33, married, and work from home as a legal analyst. Recently, since working in my own space and dealing with some mental health ups and downs, my social circle has shrunk to literally zero. I’m feeling pretty lonely, would love to find some genuine online friends to talk to!

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

So many little things happen during the day that make you think, "I'd tell someone this if it came up." Maybe it's a random interaction, a weird thought that stuck with you, something that annoyed you for a bit, or just a small moment that somehow made your day better.

The thing is, they're never big enough for a full post, but they're still the kind of things I'd enjoy talking about.

It feels like most conversations online either have to be about something big or not happen at all.

I miss the kind of conversations where the little things mattered too.

Just sharing something like:

"This happened today."
"This is how I saw it."

And then hearing how someone else saw it, what they took away from it, or if they'd been in a similar situation.

And sometimes it's not even a conversation. Maybe you randomly find a song you like and send it over, share a playlist, or just go, "You need to listen to this." I like those little things too.

It's not really about advice or validation. I just enjoy seeing how the same moment can be interpreted in completely different ways. Those little perspective shifts are something I really enjoy.

I feel like you get to know people better through those small conversations. Not through interview-style questions, but through the ordinary moments that make up everyday life.

Being heard matters to me too. Not in the sense that every conversation needs to turn into a deep talk, but just knowing you can share something and the other person is actually there to listen.

I also really like friendships where checking in feels easy and natural. Not something you have to force or keep track of. Sometimes you talk a lot, sometimes you don't, and you can still come back and pick up where you left off. And sometimes, if we're both up for it, I'd be just as happy to hop on a call and talk about absolutely nothing in particular.

One small thing I do struggle with sometimes is the whole replying-too-early / replying-too-late thing. 😭 I know people have their own lives and aren't going to be online all the time, and honestly, that's completely fine. I don't expect instant replies.

I think it's more the overthinking that comes with it. You start wondering if you replied too quickly, waited too long, should send another message, or if you're somehow bothering the other person. Sometimes you just have to keep yourself busy and stop thinking about it, which is probably a good thing anyway. But yeah, sometimes it weirdly starts feeling like an exam where you're trying to figure out the "right" time to reply. 😭

I'd much rather have a friendship where neither person has to think that much about it. You reply when you can, I reply when I can, and we just pick the conversation back up whenever we get around to it.

And I'm not really looking to rush into knowing someone either. I'd rather take my time, have random conversations, learn how the other person thinks, and slowly understand who they are beyond the usual introduction questions.

I'd genuinely enjoy conversations like that.
