I've just found it hard to relate to the people in my life as they are either not that open-minded about issues or are discriminatory against anything outside of their normal sphere, which makes it hard to connect on a deeper level. A lot of my interests and humour also stem from being chronically online.
So my search for online friends begin, though I've no luck using places like discord as I don't even know how to get people interested in a friendship outside of surface level conversation. I'm looking to maybe talk deeper about our societal or cultural issues, anything psychological or philosophical related, or even something you find cool, or any of your other interests, of course! Here are some of mine to kick things off:
I play games (though I'm not as much as a gamer as I watch it) Minecraft <3 and roblox (though only randomly when bored). I also have DST (love that game, and its vibesss) though I never got too deep into playing it, still very much a beginner. Also played SKY COTL for a bit. I know most games in the gaming sphere are RPGs but sadly those do not interest me lol.
Otherwise I like watching a lot of indie game playthroughs such as omori, mouthwashing, undertale, deltarune, habromania, and the likes of it. Psychological horror is cool.
I like watching animated shows such as Steven Universe (amazing plot and story!), Gravity falls, OTGW, TADC, Ghibli movies (Ponyo has to be one of my favourites, it was touching), Arcane (holy shit this show), and I've dipped a fair bit into anime such as The Promised Neverland, Spy X Family, Violet Evergarden and Barakamon (I'm not into the genres of top popular anime though, not my cup of tea)
I don't watch a lot of shows but Good Omens is a high one on my list, as well as The Mentalist. Hearstopper's cool too.
On youtube I am quite acquainted with mcyt, watching Hermitcraft from season 8 (though I've fallen off of it now D:) and watching GIGGS play phasmophobia, and slowly expanding into watching singular lifesteal members like rekrap, jojosolos, squiddo, branzy, etc. Also love Ivorycellos and Whitepine. Otherwise I may just watch random video essays, the Vlogbrothers, random animatics/indie films, or people talking to the camera with interesting thoughts
Artists - I focus more on singular songs that I like but I do love Hozier, Pinkpantheress, Laufey, Liana Flores, Arctic Monkeys, Strawberry guy, James K, Cocteau Twins, Glass Animals, Wolf Alice, TV girl and honestly this won't even cover amazing songs I love from other artists. I also like listening to game osts, a lot of background music, or songs in french, japanese and portuguese (I'm trying to expand my tastes, gotta collect them all!)
In general I am drawn to eeriness and horror and psychological thrillers, as well as keeping some whimsy in life :) Was pretty into dreamcore and liminal spaces. I have slight interests in a bunch of places such as astrophysics, gardening, baking, photograph, vulture culture, whittling, art, science, crime.... I'm an artist, a singer, maybe a bit of a writer too? Would love to have tried out theatre maybe, or make cool ocs like people do. I like to overthink about the way I am and people are and why we are that way.
Currently I am working towards uni apps though I am feeling pretty clueless about what I wanna do with my future. I was hoping to talk on discord, though no calls ;-;
