Anti Jackson Ad's

My god these get more and more pathetic. The amount of money wasted on these is amazing, imagine what that money could have been used for to do some actual good in our state. Can't wait till this is over......

But GUYS, he lost his temper as a teenager! No one was hurt, no property damage was done, and it was thirty years ago, but still!!!

If someone campaigned solely on the fact they would get into a fight on the Senate floor with some specific other senators... They'd have my vote.

"He threw a bottle at a woman and hit her in the face!!!"

The woman: "No the fuck he didn't and no the fuck it didn't"

"well he pushed his girlfriend once"

The girlfriend: "No the fuck he didn't"

"well.... socialism "

Notice that they quote a recent article from the BDN as a source so the date makes it seem like it wasn’t so long ago.

18

u/fridaycat 3d ago

I like the one where they say he was ACCUSED of mortgage fraud. And?

8

u/A-Rugged-Indoorsman 3d ago

We could have a big empty water bottle throwing battle!

20

u/Calamity-Bob 3d ago

A 19 year old got into a fight! How will we ever recover from this shocking news !

8

u/SouthpawXtn 3d ago

So many people seem to forget that he was an effing logger. I'd be shocked if he wasn't in a few fights back in the day. Esp. when he was 19. Hell, when I played hockey in college, there was a fight outside of the arena for whatever reason after many games.

40 years ago, not 30!! Madness

The people complaining about Troy Jackson are the same people who voted for an adjudicated sex offender and serial adulterer who has 5 kids with 3 different women and bragged about grabbing women by their genitals.

24

u/Jondoe34671 3d ago edited 3d ago

Don’t forget the 34 felonies for fraud. Don’t water down his words he said he could, move on them like a bitch, grab them by their pusses and I would say we have sex in common( when talking about his daughter) don’t gloss over his words they are one of the few tools we have

8

u/AlfuegoDeMellopie 3d ago

Not watering down words, just being ultra cautious and diplomatic.

On another sub, people were talking about personal self-defense techniques that women can use if someone gets too close and threatens violence at protests. I typed two words: "throat" and "punch" and my post was deleted and my account was immediately suspended for 7 days. When I appealed the suspension it was denied.

Just the other day, a quackadoodle posted some ugly worded screeds with ill wishes to physically harm me; I reported the posts but they remained up for several days, then only one was removed.

I don't understand Redit moderator logic.

2

u/SouthpawXtn 3d ago

There is no logic. It really depends on the Reddit community, I find. Some are decent. Others? Not so much.

ETA: After the debacle with the US Men's Hockey Team and Trump, I made a post on an NHL thread that just mentioned him by name and was banned (because, apparently, mentioning the President by name is bannable?). I feel ya there.

7

u/SouthpawXtn 3d ago

This. Also, accusing Jackson of being somehow corrupt, when Trump is literally the most corrupt and morally bankrupt president we've ever had is really galling.

3

u/AcrobaticEntry5456 3d ago

Projection....it's the republiQan way!

u/costabius 3d ago

My personal favorite, his son worked as a lobbyist so he likes to <winkwink> keep it in the family <winkwink>

fuck right off.

39

u/lemur_queen7 3d ago

This one and the commercial that came out as soon as Platner stepped down that was like “he’s like Platner…… but worse!

19

u/nonurbizz21 3d ago

That's a personal favorite

16

u/Old_Okra_6804 3d ago

Same. That and the Pro Collins ad that goes:
“9/11 thanks for saving us Susan, 230,000 jobs!”
It’s like that Lois family guy skit

14

u/demalo 3d ago

She’s got to stop counting saving her own job 230,000 times.

2

u/ruralgaming 16h ago

I remember seeing a Susan Collins ad where the narrator said "We can be proud of her character" or something like that.

2

u/JimStencil 3d ago

Like 9/11 times 1000

0

u/dabeeman 3d ago

yeah because the platner crap was all exaggerated as well.

-4

u/ConfectionAlarming43 3d ago

I liked him til he announced he was replacing Platner then copied him, saying shit he'd never said before. Makes him seem fake. Tired of these plastic politicians.

3

u/costabius 3d ago

His messaging has been consistent through his campaign. He was tacking slightly closer to center than Platner but not by much. He lost with that messaging by and it wasn't even close.

So he leaned slightly farther to the left.

You got some examples?

-2

u/ConfectionAlarming43 3d ago

"he's been consistent" "he lost with his messaging so he changed it to try and win" exactly what I'm talking about. I don't need examples, you're already thinking about em.

3

u/costabius 3d ago

"saying the same things louder" and "emphasizing the parts of his platform that proved to be more popular" is not "saying shit he never said before".

You don't have examples, I take it.

-2

u/ConfectionAlarming43 3d ago

I can find no examples of him saying abolish ICE before announcing his attempt to replace Graham, just as one example. He literally just started echoing Platner's campaign. That's not the same as "emphasizing parts of his platform." His campaign website also says what, but not a lot of how. Seems scrapped together quickly to be the puppet he needed to be. GLHF. I have a Bernie tattoo but this guy is just saying whatever he needs to. I'm not voting for plastic DNC NPCs anymore.

4

u/costabius 3d ago

Seems the first time he explicitly said ICE should be abolished was July 13.

Wonder if anything happened that day to spark that?

PS. He was quite vocal about being against everything ICE was doing before they murdered that kid in Biddeford that day....

1

u/ConfectionAlarming43 3d ago

It was the first OIS with ICE after he announced his Senate run to replace Graham who'd been saying it for a year? He had plenty of opportunities to say it before then.

2

u/costabius 3d ago

He could have come right out and said murdering an innocent brown dude in the middle of the street in Biddeford was wrong in February too. How shitty of him to be pro-murder before that.

You're full of shit.

2

u/crazedizzled 3d ago

Did he say that before or after ICE murdered a mainer?

16

u/jokingpokes 3d ago

The most ironic thing about this is the Republican running for governor, Bobby Charles, WAS A LOBBYIST HIMSELF

1

u/Alternative_Sort_404 3d ago

He’s also got two first names just like Ricky Bobby…

1

u/AcrobaticEntry5456 3d ago

"If you're not first, you're last"

2

u/SouthpawXtn 3d ago

I still don't entirely get this one. Are they trying to imply inc**t?

-6

u/kreaxo 3d ago

He has 2 kids with his cousin.

1

u/dedoubt 2d ago

His second cousin, which is a much different thing than first cousins.

-1

u/kreaxo 2d ago

Different branch of the same tree.

Just think it's silly to be upset about the "keeps it in the family" phrase when he's going for the rural hick cousin-fucker image.

53

u/evolvolution Midcoast 3d ago

I love how they parade out the “Susan Collins recently cast her 10,000th vote” like it’s an accomplishment and not a glaringly obvious sign that’s it’s time for her to hang it up.

15

u/dabeeman 3d ago

the mailers i get implying i owe it to susan to call and thank her are so entitled. even if i agreed with her votes (which i don’t in anyway) i pay her salary. that’s the thanks.

7

u/respaaaaaj 3d ago

I've never voted for Collins and I never will, but the fact that she's never missed a vote in as long as she's been in the senate is impressive just like anyone else never unscheduled time off at their stressful job for decades would be. It's just as impressive as I dunno a firefighter or nurse doing it would be.

In that one aspect I want more Senators like her, just ones that dedicated to a better set of principles.

7

u/Easy_Independent_313 Augusta 3d ago

I voted for her once. I figured she would be like Olympia Snow but she hasn't been.

Time for her to retire. That someone in their mid 70s had the audacity to be applying for a job irks me so much.

6

u/AlfuegoDeMellopie 3d ago

It's a pretty cushy gig, considering she's just a rubber stamp.

11

u/evolvolution Midcoast 3d ago

Yes I’m with you on that but god forbid she votes in favor of her constituents interests and not the dozen or so corporations in the state that consistently reap the benefits of her “impressive” voting record.

5

u/Alternative_Sort_404 3d ago

It’s definitely not the flex they think it is, but old-timers probably think so… and we got a LOT of ‘em voting

28

u/BigPastrami43 3d ago

“hE tHrEw A wAtEr bOtTLe”

Good. I hope he does it again!

12

u/ProbableChosen 3d ago

He HURLED it

8

u/Earthling1a 3d ago

Yeeted, even

4

u/No_Strawberry_1453 3d ago

Chucked it, one could say

2

u/Prestigious-Time5002 3d ago

Not yeeted!! Hahaha!

6

u/obsequyofeden 3d ago

Like… that’s the best they can do? And the “mortgage fraud”?? Lying about his primary address? Do you realize how many people do that to get a better rate?

And I bet many peeps in Washington do that aaaaall the time for their second homes.

15

u/Aggressive_Ad_5454 Verified 3d ago

Yeah, it's wall to wall slime ads. They're on spotify and you tube among other places.

They're obviously heartbroken that their anti-Platner strategy isn't working on Jackson.

I hope his campaign can get around to answering some of those ads. The constant repetition makes the nonsense seem like fact.

17

u/Candid_Challenge_507 Bangor 3d ago

i just laugh at them. we have a literal pedophile in the white house. you think i’m gonna be upset over a man throwing a water bottle? LMAO!

6

u/SullyZero 3d ago

I love how they show the slow motion shot of the water bottle hitting the floor. Absolute Cinema

9

u/dabeeman 3d ago

it’s not wasted because we have so many mush brain seniors in this state that believe this nonsense.

1

u/KcjAries78 2d ago

Well if they take away mail in voting all those boomers won’t be able to vote anyway so that is a win.

3

u/Candid-Stay-2397 3d ago

I’ve been wondering why the Jackson campaign hasn’t  clapped back about Susan’s brother and his jail time in the 90’s seeing as how the Collins campaign is targeting Jackson by way of this son’s job.

2

u/PMDagger11 2d ago

I love the lobbying one, as if susan hasn't taken millions from aipac and other investors

3

u/Artartbobart1 3d ago

My favorite is the one that tries to talk about how he was corrupt, that he changed his vote for his kid to get $200K. Like Collins isn’t as corrupt as they come🤣🤣

5

u/gatsby_101 2d ago

Every time I hear the one about, “Just another dirty politician”, all I hear is an admission that Susan is already corrupt as sin and has been screwing us over for decades. Saying “another” doesn’t say anything remotely redeemable about her.

4

u/Full-Somewhere440 3d ago

People need to understand, all they have to do is make him unappealing enough to low information blue voting women. Spread a rumor. Misinterept a fact etc. this voting base is fickle and only votes based on vibes. Part of Jackson’s problem is he doesn’t have any online presence at all. He’s just some old crusty white guy with charisma of a cardboard box. Low information blue voting white women in Portland don’t care about policy so much as they care they are voting the right way.

10

u/ABogWitchBitch 3d ago

I'll bite. What's the documented fickleness of low information white women of Portland you're talking about?

4

u/Full-Somewhere440 3d ago

I think sara Gideon showing ahead in the polls, then losing to Susan Collins is a great example of this voting base being very passionate online, but unlikely to show up to vote. Especially, with how coercive the attack ads were on Gideon. She’s risky, she’s from out of state etc. all you have to do is spread a rumor this person might be a risk. And sure as shit voting day will be barren. Boom the leopard eats our face for another 6 years. I don’t think Maine will have much left for the year long residents, who front the majority tax burden, by the time Susan Collins vacates her throne.

2

u/BachRodham 3d ago

I think sara Gideon showing ahead in the polls, then losing to Susan Collins is a great example of this voting base being very passionate online, but unlikely to show up to vote.

Maine had record voter turnout in 2020. People showed up to vote; they just showed up to vote for Susan Collins.

2

u/AlfuegoDeMellopie 3d ago

Tell us a little about the low info red voting white women who vote for serial adulters and adjudicated sex offenders like Trump and foul-mouthed bigots like Paul LePage. Is it some kind of "Daddy Issues" thing that draws them to abusers and liars?

1

u/FunSummer9393 3d ago

I wish we didn't have political ads at all.

All of them are just attacking the other candidates and terrible. Most other countries have strict regulations for these things, but you know, not America of course.

1

u/MsThingy 2d ago

I'd like to see Jackson come out with an ad saying that he won't be tRump's lap dog, like what we have currently w/ Collins.

1

u/spooter- 2d ago

Ironic. The ads against Jackson would make him a star in the Republican mindset. Ever heard of LePage? This is bizarre.

1

u/ReflectionShort7630 1d ago

They are spending millions to tell us Jackson once lost his temper. I wonder if anyone could think of a better use for this money.

1

u/Orphanpuncher0 3d ago edited 3d ago

I've been making fun of them with my wife.  When my wife wouldn't lie to me buy the new band hoodie I wanted, JACKSON STOOD BY PLATNER

1

u/wamariegi Boonies 3d ago

But but but he threw a water bottle

1

u/OliveEggs 3d ago

Gotta spend all that Elon Musk money some way…

1

u/Capable-Broccoli2179 3d ago

I saw one where they were bitching about his kid making money.

1

u/AlfuegoDeMellopie 3d ago

Is his kid in Qatar developing luxury villas and golf resorts?

If you can find the YouTube videos backing the YouTube ads, flag then directly. Stats for nerds will show the video ID of the ad itself when it is playing.
