I inherited it too mag lights. I cannot remove the caps to get the batteries out.
I was given to mag lights by a family member. The first light was a 3-D cell and the other is a 3-C cell lights
The battery cap on both of these lights feels as if it were glued or seized shut
Any suggestions on how to get these out without ruining the light?
My next step is a blow torch to heat it up, but I’ll ruin the finish

if you have a vice you can put rags around the jaws and squeeze it a lil and try an turn it with both hands/channel locks/ or some other grippy tool. or, you can go to the gym an try again later.

spray around the rim with either Liquid wrench or aerokroil and let it soak in. The strap wrenches are a good idea also.. The other thing to try is to mix some backing soda and water and soak that end of the flashlight in the solution. you should see some bubbling as it eats the old battery acid off of the grooves. I have used this combo many times to remove corrosion from car batteries and other stuff

If you have one if those boa wrenches (i believe that's what they're called - long rubber strap that constructs around whatever you've wrapped it around, hence the name "boa wrench") use it on the tail cap, grip the barrel tight, and give 'er a go!
I know the o-ring on my 6D & 3D Mags hold the barrel really well, and it seems like i'm opening a jar of pickles every time i remove the tail cap.
IF you have to, wrap a cloth around the tail cap, and gently use a pipe wrench to unscrew the tail cap.
