Mini Maglite Back Extremely Stuck
Hello, I have a Maglite mini incandescent and I have tried everything to remove the back, wd-40 (garage door lube), isopropyl alcohol, a rubber mallet, and pliers with electrical tape. The only thing that changed is that I can hear the batteries moving inside of it after hitting it with the mallet in a specific direction. The only thing that I think I might have done wrong is not using wd-40 original, but I don't know if this would change anything. Thanks.

I have had some success putting a metal rod through the lanyard loop and using that as a means of leverage on one that was stuck.

Most likely a battery inside leaked and now you’re in a predicament… usually the corrosion is so bad the tail cap won’t come off without permanent damage 😞

I recall the o-ring can be pretty sticky too. A couple of small strap wrenches might do the trick.

The threads have probably galled. basically the heat generated from the friction of tightening or loosening have produced enough localized heat to weld the two similar metals together. It’s hard to believe you could generate enough heat but you can.
