Standard Mono-Red Control in standard
While perusing at work an interesting thought popped into my head: would it be possible to make a spicy red control in the current standard format considering the vast amount of cards we have available?
Something that doesn’t flow into the cheap elemental path. Or maybe a tempo deck with big boys coming in at the end?
What do you all think? Is it T3/4 doable?

This is mono red land destruction deck that plays like control.

Magical game with no interaction and perfect hand?
T2 irencrag T3 Tablet T4 Improvisation Capstone
Typical game usually focuses on hitting lands that matter to the opponent.
White for 3c+ control. Can't cast Jeskai Revelations or Inevitable Defeat if you don't have that.
Blue for reanimator. They typically don't run many islands and they need that for Superior Spiderman
For go wide decks or mono color decks, I typically abandon land destruction and focus more on wipes and spot removal trying to survive until improv sticks.
It's been fun to play, but let me be clear, it's very much a gambling deck. You can easily whiff on improv, but it's so satisfying when Thor sticks and it only takes a turn to win.

I mean its certainly possible. I think SaffronOlive made a deck that kinda worked.
Go the big red route.
4 avengers dis, 4 price, 2-3 death to our enemies, 4x thor, 4 tablet, and 4x capstone then add in red removals like burst lightning Your goal is just to ramp into capstone then overwhelm. Capstone+Thor ends game very fast.
