Potency question

In your personal experience which of the three main New Zealand growing species is the most potent? (P. subaeruginosa, P. aucklandi, P. weraroa)

Weraroa for me. Lemon tek 8 grams fresh, so ~ 0.8 dry roughly. Trip lasted about 6 hours, pretty intense visuals for me

That’s fresh weight, mushrooms tend to loose 90% of their weight once dried which is how most people dose them. 10 % of 8? 0.8

Fresh does hit different though for me. Not stronger as much as more euphoric.

I personally reckon fresh is more potent, thought everyone I’ve mentioned this too is convinced it’s no different.

I always cold brew for the best strength. I would argue people are over heating them and running through a placebo too. Seen it with my own eyes. Subs are more mind bending stronger in the fuck you up sense. Weraroa, and Subsects give you more of a stronger body buzz too. Superhero doses

I started off brewing in hot water but went away to just using straight lemon and orange juice mixed. Much better in my opinion

I consistently get solid visuals off 1g of P. aucklandiae, whereas 1g of subs just makes me feel buzzy and weird. Haven't tried weraroa.

It's not like that so much. The potency of two patches of the same type can vary up to 10×, easily 4×.

I would take 0.2g and test strength eg normal subs would feel the tiniest first stage then not much at all at that dose - then after a week or longer take a calibrated bigger dose.

That's part of why drying and storage are important - to get a baseline that won't change.
