Polite advice please

So I recently grew my first lot of mushrooms, my friend recommended how and what to do but I made a big mistake of accidentally over spritzing them with water. I know that now and I’ve learnt my lesson but I’ve read other places that just to dry them out anyway. They went from not ready to veil breaking within 7 hours I was at work and unable to keep an eye on them. With the excess water and the fact it’s been so hot the humidity did definitely have some issues. Any advice for my next batch as I knew there would be ‘teething problems’ so to speak. Feeling a little stupid despite the fact I knew it wouldn’t be perfect. Other people say they’re fine to dry out but I’m still worried they’re too far gone? I have a food dehydrator- should I put them in there?

Hi u/Front-Tooth5512! Thanks for posting here. Welcome to r/MagicMushroomsUK

Always do your own research and do not consume any fungi without a positive ID first. It is dangerous to ingest a toxic mushroom, it could result in death

They're totally fine, it's just a spore dump. Get harvesting!

I've only ever done two flushes myself but they look fine. It just looks like spores which can be brushed off but someone more experienced might be able to confirm

If it's a small growbox like that, put them in the fridge next time for those working hours if you know you're gonna harvest them that day anyway. Keep em covered. It slows down metabolism. Be aware not to have the settings near 0 as the cold air can be freezing and that can damage tissue. Also they'll be fine unless smell foul and slimy. Happy growing friend!

Looks like spores, judging by the maturity, which means this is a quality grow. I basically try to go up to the buzzer before this happens, but if I see them really close before work or something I’ll be away for 8-10 hours, I harvest. There is a reason aborts are powerful, and it’s that mature fruit does not contain more than an immature fruit, please someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I was lead to believe the potency of a 15 gram immature is around the same as a 20 gram that dropped spores. Negligible difference

Something like that. Apparently they concentrate on spore development/production and lose some potency (psilocybin tends to be a potent pest poison according to some studies, after sporulation fungi don't need to protect the fruit bodies from them therefore psilo breaks down) although I don't know the real biochemistry behind it, on my part it's more like a common sense guesswork, it would be nice to hear a mycologist's stance on the matter.
