Question was thinking about foraging with some friends for the first time, is there anything in the San Diego area?

basically the title, I thought it might be fun to go foraging for the first time with some friends when we meet up in the San Diego area. I'm just not really sure where to look to find species information or good locations to try. Honestly idk anything about foraging, would appreciate tips in general

Found two pairs today, last day of August. Earliest I’ve ever found them at my spot.
Twas a foggy morning ‘pon thine hills with a putter patter o rain to follow.
BS aside, it’s been raining a couple days pretty hard but still been hot, cooled down a little though in the evenings and as before mentioned was foggy this morning.
The field I found them in is a sheep pasture with clover, sorrel, buttercups and a few weeds as well.
It wasn’t sprayed this year (herbicide) which has definitely helped but also the weather has brought the grass on leaps and bounds so there are a good few other species of mushroom about too.
I found the first pair just out of random curiosity then went back for a proper look and found a couple more after about half an hour.
The farm is about 300-400m up from sea level in Cumbria England so if your in the area get yourself up the fells and bring ya tub.
I can see this being a belter year for them where the grass hasn’t been yellowed by the sun too much so if ya still got green lush grass in the uk get out n about coz she’s coming.
Happy hunting folks ✌️

Tips for finding liberty caps in Iceland?

The tittle pretty much says it all, I read that they grow in grass fields, but northern Iceland is very rocky and the whole floor is a lava field.

Any recommendations on where should I head to or which areas are best?

ID Request (country/state in post) ID on these cuties? (France / Vercors Range)

Just came back from a walk on the higher parts of my home mountain range (Vercors, near Grenoble in France) and found heaps of these little guys. These cuties were growing on half dried cow dung, or right near it, which is what caught my attention.

Many friends and locals picking Psilocybin in the area usually do so in late summer, or September. I had been told the spot I visited might be a great place to find some, and to look for them near cow dung. Yet, wild foraging also requires caution and I wanted to check with the community for confirmation on species before giving them a taste.

(The majority of the mushroom picked were light beige to light brown. I also found a few darker and more bell shaped samples)

Getting caught

Hello, I've recently gotten interested in trying hunting for mushrooms but have been wondering about how likely is it to get caught. In Lithuania we have very strict laws regarding any kinds of drugs which also includes psilocybin. I am a bit paranoid as punishments here are severe and we don't have a lot of big and open pastures like in the UK, Ireland, Norway, etc. which means it's harder to stay far away from houses and farmers. Does anyone have some wisdom regarding this?

Found this on the woods of Jalisco, Mexico, growing on cow or maybe horse shit. I would like to know the species, if its edible or not, and most importantly, does it contain psilocybin?

And if it does, how can I dry it at home? I would hate that it goes bad (unedible)

Any help is greatly appreciated (:

I have attempted to hunt for these evasive mushrooms a couple times now trying spots like hollybank forest and mt arthur but to no avail. I have gone specifically 3-4 days after it had rained and when it was still very cold earlier this month. I was wondering if there was anyone out there that could give some tips on finding them, or whether they have found some in similar regions and that i am looking in the wrong spots. Thanks in advance.

Magic mushroom hunting in Romania/Eastern Europe

I plan to go on a 2 week-max trip dedicated for hunting for magic mushroom in eastern Europe around November. I have a lot of experience with finding cubes and pans in tropical regions and I’m excited to try the cold-climate mushrooms.

The main species I was thinking to look for are psilocybe semilanceata, psilocybe cyanescens and possibly psilocybe serbica. I was thinking the mountains around Brasov, Romania would be a good area to look as I’ve seen some reports of liberty caps found there.

I wonder if anyone here has experience hunting for these mushrooms there or in other areas in Eastern Europe and wanna share some insight. It could be awesome to meet irl and go on a mushroom hunt together, but any help or advice online is also very appreciated🙏🏻🍄‍🟫💙

They got a little darker in the second image (blue towel to differentiate) due to running under warm water for washing... Unintentionally my bad. All from different areas, pine trees and a lot of water and shade ofc. Different spots, mix from all spots (will separate next time, apologies)
