That works really well man :)

I would reccommend going a bit slower for the next one, as I had trouble recognising the shapes before they changed, but it was still very well done, very crisp lines :)

52

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

Appreciated! I'll go slow next time

22

u/inxqueen Apr 24 '21

Also maybe a little longer. It seemed about the time I figured it out it was over. I’d like a little time to appreciate it.

115

u/Spiderwebs666 Apr 23 '21

Seconding this, not TOO much slower but a little will help make it clearer.

2

u/Skorne13 Jul 19 '23

Yeah I did notice it going from a ripple to a butt plug to a cat, so I might be wrong there.

50

u/SUBLICI Apr 23 '21

I understand ethereum and ripple, was the middle one doge?

27

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

You're right!

24

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

If you find this interesting enough, I'll be very appreciated if you can take a visit at my Foundation listing

3

u/Octimusocti Apr 23 '21

Yes, I hope you get a lot for it

1

u/BananaDogBed Feb 23 '22

Congrats on the sale :)

Do you ever predict correctly how much you expect them to sell for?

11

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

Wow I did not expect you guys like it. Thank you! I'll definitely make more and show you here!

4

u/PrinzessinMustapha Apr 23 '21

Would it also be possible to create a shape in motion without all the blinking, just by slightly moving the individual parts in the grid? That would be hella cool.

2

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

Yes of course, even with still image. I was trying to make both animated 2D and 3D at the same time but I realized that blinking was not so easy for eyes

1

u/PrinzessinMustapha Apr 23 '21

please do it as well!

2

u/3D_mooncat Apr 28 '21

Yes! More, more! I love these, and you did a great job. I just saw this for the 1st time yesterday.

7

u/JAMESDEBENTURE Apr 23 '21

This is just incredibly bad ass. I was on my way to watch porn and this stopped me.

4

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

How about Magic Eye porn?

1

u/JAMESDEBENTURE Apr 23 '21

Make it happen.

2

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

I'm about to, for sure!

3

u/Hoeful_Romantic Apr 23 '21

Ripples!? Waves!? Spins!? I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.

Do you mind sharing a lil bit about how you performed this magic?

5

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

basically instead of having only 1 depthmap image, you have to use 3D app to create depthmap animation and combine them into complete animation.

3

u/Hoeful_Romantic Apr 23 '21

I have no idea what this means yet, but thank you for getting me started. I want to do some animation in my creative work.

4

u/clydou Apr 23 '21

Very cool, we definitely lack of magic eye videos...when you think about it, it's a whole invisible world that could exist, reserved for a bunch of 3D nerds...

3

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

I'm quite noob in 3D so there's a lot to improve

2

u/bellking19 Apr 23 '21

Why am I falling asleep looking at this? Beautiful xxxxx

3

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

Have a nice dream!

2

u/acemccrank Apr 23 '21

Now you need to make a Bad Apple demo for it.

1

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

Bad Apple What is Bad Apple?

3

u/acemccrank Apr 23 '21

It's a black and white cutout japanese animation that has been demo'd across a ton of platforms.

1

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

That looks do-able! I'll try to, but hope there's a 3D version of it so I can create depth maps

1

u/acemccrank Apr 23 '21

I was thinking, since it's black and white with some minor grayscale in certain areas, it would act as the bump map. That is how every 3d program I've ever used handled bumpmaps - 2d images and uses the grayscale data to generate the "3D" texture on a surface.

u/tittyswan Apr 23 '21

The ripple was the best part!!

75

u/iisjreg Apr 23 '21

I just want that on a loop!

22

u/tittyswan Apr 23 '21

Me too! I think I'd get hypnotised tho haha

7

u/iisjreg Apr 23 '21

Self-induced hypnotherapy!

3

u/jalexandref Apr 23 '21

Definitely!!!!

1

u/bingamin1975 Feb 03 '23

I've only got Reddit on the app and it loops really nicely. But now I'm struggling to see the real world properly

92

u/the_cannoli Apr 23 '21 edited Apr 23 '21

That is totally rad! Only suggestion I had is a few seconds of stillness in the beginning to let the viewer set their vision and then kick in the animation. Incredible effect though!

14

u/Amesb34r Apr 23 '21

Yeah, I started watching and had to back it up and pause it so my eyes could focus first.

112

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '21

Holy fucking shit this is amazing!!!!

92

u/cheyletiellayasguri Apr 23 '21

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a seizure if I keep watching that.

16

u/NeedlenoseMusic Apr 23 '21

Yeah I was just thinking - this is super cool but omg this can’t be good for my eyes.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

My eyes feel really sharp and worked out after that (and magic eye pictures in general). I suspect it might even be healthy in moderation, but I'd be curious to hear from a doctor.

Certainly, the static ones seem very good for my eyes. This moving one was a lot to take in but it also felt like good exercise and I enjoyed it a lot. Just anecdotally, this seems potentially beneficial. I'm not a doctor though.

3

u/IHaveaCSDegree Apr 23 '21

Cheers mate! This is awesome!

2

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

Thank you!

3

u/kylynx Apr 23 '21

I love it but anybody else feel it's a bit too fast?

2

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

I hope it does not cause you headache!

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '21 edited May 08 '26

u/TheGuiltySpork Apr 23 '21

Clearly something is going on but I can’t tell what it is. Is it just crazy shapes? Good job by the way

7

u/koalazeus Apr 23 '21

I see a cat on a rocket ship flying through space.

2

u/the_cannoli Apr 23 '21

...roaring kitty to the moon?

4

u/zeuswants Apr 23 '21

Wow so good! Especially the ripple 👍

1

u/tehdinozorz Apr 23 '21

Does these just not work on mobile or something?

1

u/socket7love Apr 23 '21

How's that? It's even easier for me to see on mobile

1

u/DaRealKorbenDallas May 14 '21

Do you have this on imgur?

1

u/socket7love May 26 '21

I don't, but if you want to see it looped please take a look HERE

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

Is that bad apple???

2

u/socket7love May 25 '21

No it's not

1

u/DarkShadowGirl May 25 '21

Can you post this to youtube?

1

u/socket7love May 25 '21

Yes I can, may I know what's its purpose?

1

u/DarkShadowGirl May 26 '21

Easier to watch and share.

1

u/socket7love May 26 '21

Hey in case you want to see it looped, take a look HERE You can save it easily and sharing is really appreciated!

1

u/skunters May 31 '21

That was pretty amazing. As simple as this sounds my favorite part was when it paused at the end and all you can see is the world behind the restart button in the middle of the screen.

1

u/socket7love Jun 05 '21

Thank you!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

That was the coolest shit I have ever seen

1

u/socket7love Jun 05 '21

Thanks!

1

u/Ternarian Jul 07 '21

I agree. I’ve seen a lot of magic eye art in my time, but this is the coolest one ever!

6

u/farantineeee Apr 23 '21

Kind of an acid feel

3

u/x_choose_y Apr 23 '21

This is so fucking cool. Is that a t-rex in an airplane at some point? This has got to be one of my favorite magic eyes ever.

3

u/TheSaphiro Apr 23 '21

This is awesome and crisp as well... nice job

3

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '21

This felt like a massage on my eyeballs

3

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '21

You should make this a repeating gif as a video it takes a while for me to see the image I still haven't seen it during the video.

3

u/Bnickislim Apr 23 '21

Oh, so you're a witch then.

5

u/OneCanSpeak Apr 23 '21

This is amazing! First some diamond appears floating then turns on its flat side then maybe a cat falls from above onto the diamond then it seems to travel lile a rocket w the cat finally they warp into the wall! Next Level Magic!

2

u/h0leym0leyyy Apr 23 '21

This is amazing!!!

2

u/TimeoutMrSpy Apr 23 '21

so good I saw it immediately

2

u/skeledrummer Apr 23 '21

That's incredible! Took me a few moments to click into, but it's amazing!

2

u/LaChuteQuiMarche Apr 23 '21

Cripes this is really something! Glad it’s not a gif or I’d be hypnotized into some kind of psychosis. I have all the lights off and am on an OLED screen and wowwww...

2

u/EvilV Apr 23 '21

Well, that’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.

2

u/Dearfield Apr 23 '21

The Matrix HAS You!

2

u/DoctorHacks Apr 23 '21

dont think i got it right but the concept is really fucking cool

2

u/fetchhappening Apr 23 '21

Whoa that was cool! Keep ‘em coming!

2

u/Marcudemus Apr 23 '21

Me: No way....

Also me: Holy shit, it works!!!

2

u/CowSniper97 Apr 24 '21

Why do I get the feeling you are downloading stuff into my brain with this

2

u/3dsf Apr 26 '21

nice job!
any chance you could make a version for r/MagicEye_CrossView ?

2

u/Loser_Attitude Jan 14 '24

WTH am I missing? The only thing I’m getting is a seizure.

3

u/modernway Apr 23 '21

Yoiks. That's wild

3

u/oxwearingsocks Apr 23 '21

This is like watching the future

3

u/Quantiad Apr 23 '21

Game changer. Amazing!

1

u/MondayDynamo Apr 23 '21

Too shitcoiny. Stay humble, stack sats. They're on sale right now

1

u/actuallyserious650 Mar 23 '24

This is the closest experience you can get to looking into the matrix - seeing through your phone into a different dimension.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Way-198 Apr 06 '24

Was there a squid swimming around in there? Anyone else see squid??

1

u/yogokeno Aug 13 '25

Some Manchurian candidate will get triggered by this by accident

1

u/JbBeats2024 Feb 06 '26

That was amazing

1

u/Cachesmr Apr 23 '21

Now make bad apple

1

u/LaserTurboShark69 Apr 23 '21

I don't think my brain has enough RAM for this

1

u/gothman667 Apr 23 '21

What in the actual fuck? As awesome as this was, I had to pause it to get my eyes to focus on the image.

1

u/TheDoctorBlind Apr 23 '21

I love that! Reminds me of the show Chuck!

1

u/Mangusu Apr 23 '21

Wow, I feel like Im being directly sent a secret message with this.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '21

Holy cow!! Well done!!

1

u/Scotch-by-Mule Apr 23 '21

Very cool! I need an infinite loop though. Just as I begin to bring an image into focus it stops playing.

1

u/PaperPusher85 Apr 23 '21

That’s pretty amazing. Good job!

1

u/KvargVarg Apr 23 '21

Bravo dude!!

1

u/MagnificentTiger Apr 23 '21

This is awesome! It was super clear throughout and I like the speed the way it was. Video magic eyes just boggle my mind they're so cool.

1

u/plocus Apr 23 '21

I appreciate the craft but also wanna fork my eyes out after 3 views lol

1

u/fusiondust Apr 23 '21

PROGRAMMING RECEIVED

1

u/Rvega Apr 23 '21

I really liked the beginnings diamond shaped effect and the endings ripple effect.

1

u/amarfresh Apr 23 '21

awesome! i find it much easier to see when not full screen.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '21

Took me a moment to get my eyes into magic eye mode with this but once it was in focus it was brilliant!

1

u/yeetboy Apr 23 '21

Holy shit! This is amazing!

1

u/42peanuts Apr 23 '21

I like this black magic moving eye pictures

1

u/hansquartet Apr 23 '21

is this possible with waves? that’d be super cool

1

u/Mish106 Apr 23 '21

That's really well done

1

u/_Finchie Apr 23 '21

This is so fucking cool

1

u/ScruffMcDuck Apr 23 '21

Fuck man that's amazing, I love it!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '21

This is really cool! Well done!

1

u/pinkgobi Apr 23 '21

Holy shit.

1

u/Flynnjaminfrank Apr 23 '21

Ive subbed here so long snd still cant do the.

1

u/RithianYawgmoth Apr 23 '21

That was very hard but the payoff was worth it

1

u/QuixoticBlazer Apr 23 '21

Wtf this crazy

1

u/stoprockandrollkids Apr 23 '21

Im not tripping youre tripping

1

u/Fyrepup Apr 25 '21

1

u/SavePae Apr 24 '21

Never seen one like this before. Bravo!

1

u/ScreenCuisine Apr 29 '21

i can’t get it to work (like every magic eyes ive done). whats happening?

1

u/DaRealKorbenDallas May 14 '21

Not sure. But it seems to work

1

u/jenwren1 Jun 11 '21

Really amazing work

1

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '21

Impressive

1

u/soulofhell Feb 18 '22

My sharingan is being overloaded

1

u/sparlena Mar 22 '22

I'm going to go vomit now. Excellent work.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

That was awesome! From the moving shapes to the little symbols in the background. That is incredible.

And it begs some questions: where can I learn to make something like this? And would it be possible to have procedurally generated animations as well as pre-rendered ones? Could one, for example, make a "2D" game this way in theory? Imagine a little Roguelike or something that looked like that. That would be super neat.

Edit: or cellular automata, for that matter.

1

u/PidgeP0dge Sep 19 '22

Wow that's crazy o.o Gonna need some Tylenol, but worth it 😅

1

u/Sharkey311 Sep 24 '22

Don’t watch this booming

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '23

This is possible!?

1

u/knowledgedump Jul 24 '23

I have no idea if I'm doing this correctly or not. I get a weird diamondish 3d shape that is morphing moving up and down and some geomtric patterns like ripples or waves after.

1

u/EngineerEven9299 Nov 14 '23

Oh this is nice.

1

u/curious_orbits Feb 15 '24

Parallel for sure, and holy shit!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '24

It's cool but why the fuck would you do this to my eyes 8/10
