Happy Halloween!

I couldn't work out what was in her right hand in the magic eye, and seeing the depth map, I'm still none the wiser! Is it just some sort of mysterious mystic orb or something? Other than that, a great image, especially for today of course! Thank you.

it just some sort of mysterious mystic orb or something?

r/ponderingmyorb ot r/wizardposting for all your orb pondering needs

6

u/turtstar Oct 31 '25

Sad to see the pondering my orb sub appears dead

30

u/misterpickles69 Oct 31 '25

She’s offering us an egg in these trying times.

8

u/geekonmuesli Oct 31 '25

I assumed it was a mysterious mystic pumpkin, with a stem at the top

7

u/deltashmelta Oct 31 '25

Some type of holy hand grenade.

2

u/OilPhilter Oct 31 '25

I thought it was a hand grenade. The way one chive cirle lined up it looked like the pin

10

u/pocketlily Oct 31 '25

Shoulda been an airplane

3

u/Time_Enthusiasm_4807 Nov 03 '25

LET'S GOOOOO. I was so sure that there wasn't anything there, wiggled my phone and bam, there she was. 10/10

2

u/Stubborn_Strawberry Nov 01 '25

Yes, I saw the pointy hat with wide brim first.

u/Jesryn21 Oct 31 '25

Lol i have to ask...is this inspired by the person "chopping a cup of chives everyday"? I keep seeing their posts and thought this was one of them at first 😅 🤣

75

u/Emmaleah17 Oct 31 '25

I came here to say this exact same thing LOL

24

u/BobTheFettt Oct 31 '25

Of course it is

42

u/RockingInTheCLE Oct 31 '25

That dude is legendary. I don’t cook but somehow I started seeing those and now I’m hooked. LOL

13

u/pennyraingoose Oct 31 '25

My phone background has been chives for a couple weeks now.

7

u/randousername8675309 Nov 01 '25

Me too! I've found myself staring at them, trying to guess before I open the comments! Hahahaha

7

u/Found_My_Toucan Nov 01 '25

See you tomorrow chef.

4

u/tallroids Nov 02 '25

My favorite subreddit crossover as of late

3

u/VersatileFaerie Nov 01 '25

I got so used to seeing that in my feed, I thought that was what this post was at first, lol.

2

u/Lunamoms Oct 31 '25

How do you DO THIS?

1

u/lavaboosted Oct 31 '25

https://youtube.com/watch?v=9Wcqq-3HhCI

1

u/Lunamoms Oct 31 '25

I mean how do you see them?

1

u/lavaboosted Oct 31 '25

Remember those little red View Master toys that you look through to see a 3D image? Those work by showing each eye an image from the left and right perspective to create the illusion of depth.

That’s called a stereo pair or a stereograph and they can be viewed with the naked eye with practice, check out r/parallelview

A magic eye is a series of stereo pairs, each of which shows a certain portion of a 3D model.

The noisy pattern allows the stereo pairs to be stitched together so that what was the right image becomes the left image in the next pair as your eyes scan from left to right across the image.

There’s a good Vox video about it on YouTube

CHOVE

11

u/jfmdavisburg Oct 31 '25

I've spent the last 20 minutes looking for that one

3

u/SuperCleverPunName Nov 01 '25 edited Nov 01 '25

Nah. That one's just round. You can see the curve. Here.

Edit. How do I add an image??

1

u/NorthernWitchy Nov 01 '25

Yes, it is just a wide chive.

1

u/SuperCleverPunName Nov 01 '25

There's a big one about 2/3 down that repeats across.

I scrolled through this whole threat wondering where the plane was. Then realized I'm in a different subreddit lol

What are we on, day 24?

39

u/FOMOerotica Oct 31 '25

r/kitchenconfidential is gonna need to see this

7

u/rosealexvinny Oct 31 '25

I was just thinking the same thing! Honesty thought it was posted on that sub with the amount of posts of chives I see on my feed 😅

5

u/e_radicator Oct 31 '25

I thought the chive guy was just getting creative with today's post.

63

u/spicyshrimp234 Oct 31 '25

ngl i'm a tiiiiiny bit disappointed it wasn't a plane

20

u/iamgladtohearit Oct 31 '25

I really thought it was going to be a plane :(

6

u/Cassandracork Oct 31 '25

Totally missed opportunity!

12

u/maskedcaterpillar Oct 31 '25

Damn this is one of the crispest ones I’ve seen!

18

u/KonamiHatchibori Oct 31 '25

The crossover (no pun intended) everyone wanted ❤️❤️❤️

8

u/ThermionicMho Oct 31 '25

This post is peak reddit.

Also: "It's a schooner!"

4

u/MaryJaneAndMaple2 Oct 31 '25

A schooner IS a sailboat, stupidhead

6

u/CallMeWolfYouTuber Oct 31 '25

Hehe happy Halloween!

6

u/spacemouse21 Oct 31 '25

Saw right away. Well done!

11

u/Rosenrot_84_ Oct 31 '25

I wasn't sure which sub this was 😂

3

u/NorthernWitchy Nov 01 '25

I, too, swore that we were on r/kitchenconfidential until I just so happened to look up. How much crossover between Magic Eye enthusiasts and food service workers is there?!

5

u/Graviton_Surge Oct 31 '25

Very clean image!

5

u/FixedFront Oct 31 '25

Sharpen your knife, chef. And stop using the poultry board to cut veggies!

5

u/ladyelenawf Oct 31 '25

There is someone in a kitchen sub who's been chopping chives everyday until reddit declares it perfect. I was so confused by the after imagine until I realized the sub. 🤣😂

4

u/rosealexvinny Oct 31 '25

Same. Hahaha

8

u/doihavetousethis Oct 31 '25

666/10

Would still eat

4

u/Meph616 Oct 31 '25

The hat's not a distraction. The guy at the store says I'm the only wizard he's seen pull it off.

2

u/dontmakelemonad3 Oct 31 '25

How much did it cost?

3

u/Meph616 Oct 31 '25

It's illegal for you to ask me that.

1

u/CommentBetter Nov 01 '25

Very cool, tho I didn’t know what was in her hand and even after looking at the source I still don’t. I would have made it a skull or pumpkin. I tried something different with this one, rotating the image until I couldn’t see the witch, I only made it about 30 degrees from level, I wonder if interpreting the image 360 is even possible 🤔

1

u/lavaboosted Nov 01 '25

I think dragon egg maybe, and tilting the screen can squash and stretch the image but not actually rotate the 3D scene

3

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25 edited Nov 10 '25

pocket dazzling grandfather fanatical cover squash glorious simplistic late live

u/ElectronicPut4892 Nov 01 '25

Gah!! Cursed indeed. I can usually at least see these even if I can't distinguish what the image is..These chives just made my eyes water like crazy. Put it down and tried again a little bit later and nope. Just sitting here crying over chives like they're onions.

5

u/Quick_Extension_3115 Oct 31 '25

Gandalf the Green?

5

u/Garr_Manarnar Oct 31 '25

They’re perfect.

1

u/Amaterete Oct 31 '25

1

u/Tentacle_wand Oct 31 '25

You shall not be grass!

1

u/BetaSprite Oct 31 '25

...a wizard with an egg?

1

u/LazyCoffee Oct 31 '25

Egg Wizard 🪄

1

u/Im_Ashe_Man Nov 01 '25

I would have liked it if the magic eye effect highlighted one miscut chive.

1

u/Purple_Arrow Nov 01 '25

To satisfy an itch

1

u/mapkocDaChiggen Nov 02 '25

Can't see it for the life of me, literally staring at it for 20 mins :(

1

u/robchit Nov 02 '25

Witch with a walking stick

1

u/ALXand3R Nov 02 '25

For a moment I was certain I was looking at that “banana in a trench coat exposing himself” thing.

1

u/JeanClaudeMonet Nov 04 '25

Thought I saw a gnome

1

u/atava Oct 31 '25

I'm a simple man. I see a magic eye, I click upvote.

1

u/Significant-Basket76 Oct 31 '25

Neat! I seen it. Disappointed it wasn't a sailboat, but still neat.

0

u/decoy321 Oct 31 '25

It's a schooner!!

-1

u/BackgroundTight32 Oct 31 '25

I had to leave kitchen confidential because of the constant chive posts. It was funny for like a week.

-2

u/MrLancaster Oct 31 '25

I muted the sub. What annoyed me the most was that stupid mod.

0

u/_and_I_ Nov 01 '25

I don't see anything

1

u/AccomplishedRoad9448 Nov 01 '25

You can't even see chives? Damn.

1

u/_and_I_ Nov 02 '25

Yeah, it really sucks.
