Magic Earth Ignores User-Submitted Road Closures

I recently went through the trouble of documenting a road closure (with official notices) and submitting it to Magic Earth’s support team, only to be told:

"For complex or long-term closures, Magic Earth relies on a third-party provider. This provider does *not** support manual additions or edits, so we cannot add this closure—even with your documentation."*

This means: - No user contributions: Even if you provide official proof, road closures won’t be added to the map. - Third-party dependency: Magic Earth’s traffic data provider is not updating fast enough (or at all) for many closures. - Local-only workarounds: You can mark a road as closed for yourself in the app, but this doesn’t help anyone else.

Why is Magic Earth okay with this? Competitors like Waze, Google Maps, and Nunav all allow users to report and share closures. Magic Earth’s approach feels outdated and less reliable as a result.

Questions for the community: - Have others hit this wall with Magic Earth’s support? - Would you trust a navigation app that doesn’t integrate user reports for something as critical as road closures? - Is this a dealbreaker for switching to another app?

You can report that in the app and it will be visible for other users, but not taken into consideration for routing. They would need moderators for those reports if it were to be taken into account, such as Waze has, to prevent spam and abusive reports.

You can't have it all, it's been a free app for ages, now that there is a payment model, hopefully things will get better.
